With the addition of the Nike Air Zoom Kobe IV to Nike iD’s long list of customizable shoes in January, we thought we’d seen the shoe in just about every colorway imaginable. Fortunately, Nike is still finding ways to breathe new life into the shoe, in this instance, offering the quarter and tongue in a previously unobtainable purple. The simple color scheme works well, offering an elegance that may have been missing in some of the busier colorways. No back story yet, but we could potentially be facing a new general release. Kobe Bryant wore this black/varsity purple/canyon gold Nike Zoom Kobe IV (4) on the road this past NBA season. The shoe’s black upper is accented by canyon gold Nike Flywire. Patent leather sets the toe off and multicolored laces tie everything together. For now, the Nike Zoom Kobe IV (4) Purple Haze PE will remain in the sample closet, but there’s always a chance the shoe will hit House of Hoops sometime down the road!

Kobe Bryant’s championship year shoe, the Nike Zoom Kobe IV (4) has surfaced in this alluring black/varsity blue schema. The technical hoops shoe features faux-crocodile print on the toebox and black Flywire across the middle panel. A criss-cross blue/red fabric cossets the ankle. Red hints peek through on the IV’s multidirectional herringbone outsole. The Nike Zoom Kobe IV (4) Blue/Varsity Blue will hit sometime later this summer.

A lot of celebrations have taken place for the Lakers, some positive and negative, but for the most part positive. The LA Lakers were on Jimmy Kimmel Live and doing most of the talking was Kobe Bryant. Like most sneaker heads, checking whats on the next persons feet is more of a routine, and we are guilty, so we caught Kobe Bryant in a pair of Air Jordan 1 Black/Blue. We believe, this is the 2001 retro, but having a close relationship with Nike (Bryant), you never know. Enjoy the pictures.

With the Nike Zoom Kobe IV (4) almost at the end of its retail reign, we now have our first detailed look at a Nike Zoom Kobe 5 (V) Sample. Nike decided to go with a low-cut design again, but there are definitely many differences between the ZK4 and the upcoming ZK5. The ZK5 will feature a full length Zoom cushioning to increase comfort and a full mesh tongue to increase breathability. This pair hosts a black upper accented by purple laces, a white swoosh, and what appears to be flywire technology on the side panels. Bryant’s logo and signature appear on the tongue and heel, respectively. Please note that changes will most likely be made before the Nike Zoom Kobe 5 (V) is eventually released later this year.

Kobe Bryant and the Nike Zoom Kobe 4 (IV) were extremely successful this year, and Nike Basketball is hoping that Kobe’s upcoming signature sneaker, the Dream Season, is also met with similar success. We have seen a couple previews of the Nike Dream Season thus far, and we now have our first look at black/white-purple style. As denoted by the colorway, this pair yields a black upper accented by a white swoosh, purple laces, white logo on the tongue, purple Kobe signature on the heel, and a white mid-sole. The Nike Dream Season Kobe Bryant is set to debut this Fall ‘09.

Remember when the Nike Zoom Kobe I (1) sat on shelves, collecting dust at $29.99 a couple of years ago? Well, with Kobe Bryant securing his fourth NBA title, (sans Shaq) and the alleged high demand for the ZKI, the folks at Nike Basketball might just reissue the shoe. The above screen shot was captured on the Nike BB website earlier this morning. It reads: “Welcome to NikeBasketball.com.
