Last we reported on the K-Swiss brand, it was getting ready to commemorate the huge Ironman Competition by representing six different countries with six different pairs of K-Ona II’s. Now, the brand’s toning it down with the release of this “Classic T” pictured here. This pair sports a predominantly black nylon upper with white midsole and black outsole. Another subtle touch that’s commonplace among certain K-Swiss silhouettes is the metal lace holders. These come at an affordable rate of approximately $70 and can be picked up at certain K-Swiss retailers, including their online shop.

Just because K-Swiss took time to showcase some of its 2010 collection, doesn’t mean it’s forgotten about the here and now. In an effort to commemorate the 2009 Ironman World Championship in Kona, Hawaii, K-Swiss shall release a collection of six K-Ona II’s that’ll each represent a different country. As can obviously be made out, five countries receiving special treatment are the United State of America, Germany, Japan, Brazil (who just got word of its successful bid to host the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro as well), and Canada. Last, but not least, is the UK. Each shoe is designed to help with strenuous physical activity thanks to water resistant and cushioning material, retails at $130, and can be purchased specifically at the Ironman World Championships on the 10th of October, 2009.

While last Saturday was a big day for K-Swiss because of the release of its sneaker collaboration with Partners & Spade, the Wednesday before that was also a big one. Hundreds attended K-Swiss’ “Play Nice” fashion show in New York City’s Skyline Gallery as models showcased products slated to release as part of the brand’s Spring 2010 collections. Several celebrities appeared on the runway, accompanied in the end by members of the local K-Swiss affiliate: the Boys & Girls Club of America. On display were different K-Swiss models made for casual wear, tennis play, fitness training, and even skateboarding. In the end, the event was a successful kick-off to this year’s US Open tournament and cemented K-Swiss’ position as an all-inclusive California Sport brand. Check out more pix of this collection being modeled after the jump.

KSwissP&S1

Earlier this year we got word of a K-Swiss collaboration with United Set. This past Saturday, August 29th, 2009, invited guests celebrated the release of the limited edition P&S Classic- the result of a new K-Swiss collaboration, this time with New York footwear store Partners & Spade. The launch event consisted of the August Sweat Out Ping Pong Classic- a day-long event in which guests competed against each other in games of ping pong played on a table with a K-Swiss theme. But the real prize was being given the first opportunity to cop one of the P&S Classics limited to 266 pairs. Originally released at the 1966 Wimbledon games, this reworked shoe has a stripe of bright orange near the ankle with each pair being individually numbered with an identification tag. Only certain stores such as the J. Crew NY Men’s Store and Partners & Spade have these for sale. So it’ll take you a bit more work acquiring a pair of these- but, then again, that’s the nature of limited releases.
