Air Jordan Force IX (AJF 9) Fusion - White - Red

In 2009, “The Best of Both Worlds” Jordan Brand and Nike Fusion hybrids will continue to drop. To begin the year, the two will combine the iconic Nike Air Force One (1) and the Air Jordan IX (9) into a casual option suitable for any type of Hypebeasting activity. More specifically, the AJF9 Fusion will combine the AF1’s outsole and toebox with the 9’s ribbed midsole, Jumpman “Worldwide” logo, and segmented upper. There’s no official word as to when these will release, but we’ll update when new colorways or information surfaces. Images via Hoop China.

Old and New: Air Jordan 2.5 Team White/Varsity Red/Cement Grey

Jordan Brand has profited heavily off of decimals, as the Beaverton-based Nike subsidiary has combined Michael Jordan’s signature shoes to create updated performance packages. Earlier this month, the company released the 2.5 Mid, a Shelleyian combination of the Air Jordan II and Air Jordan III. Several Jumpman sponsored hoopers have worn the shoe on-court, including Chris Paul, Ray Allen, Gerald Wallace, and Michael Finley. The team white/varsity red/cement grey/black version of the Air Jordan 2.5 is scheduled to release on January 10, 2009, but pairs have arrived on eBay already.

Michael Jordan Air Jordan IX (9) Player Exclusive 45 PE Cleats

In a decision heard ’round the world, Michael Jordan retired from the game of basketball to pursue a career in baseball. His announcement came shortly after the passing of his father, who had always envisioned his son as a Big Leaguer. MJ batted .202 with 3 HR, 51 RBI, 30 stolen bases, and 11 errors in a largely underwhelming campaign that was forever enshrined in cinematic classic Space Jam. (Mike also had a stint with the Scottsdale Scorpions in the 1994 Arizona Fall League.) Jordan sported the Tinker Hatfield-designed Jordan IX (9), his signature for the ‘94-95 season in a cleated format. The shoe featured an all-black upper and was distinguished by Jordan’s number “45″ and a clever Jumpman “Globe” logo stitched along the heel. (Tinker crafted the IX in recognition of Jordan and the game of basketball’s newfound global influence.) Via NikeTalk’s American Dream.

Grainy Goodness? Richard Hamilton’s Air Jordan XX3 (23) Mid

Amid a deluge of contrived Fusion releases, it appears as if Jordan Brand might have maintained some semblance of sole/soul. (Ask Lil’ Bow Wow for an answer–he’s an “O.G.”) The brand’s latest triumvirate of XX3 releases has been met with wide acclaim nationwide, and the black/red “Premier” update set to drop in thirteen days looks favorable. The Jumpman has continued blessing their “Team” players with an assortment of exclusive merchandise, too. Detroit Pistons forward Richard “Rip” Hamilton recently sported this red/white/blue version of the ecologically friendly, yet luxurious XX3 Mid on-court. The model is accentuated by Hamilton’s nickname, “Rip City” stitched in royal blue along the ankle collar. Questions remain, however. Did NikeTalk member ES300 take a quick flick of the shoe on his phone? (Which might explain the picture’s grainy appearence…) Does this pair (or one shoe) even belong to him? Will this cute girl from one of my classes call me? Via ES300 of NT.
