Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade is the latest signee to Jordan Brand’s basketball family. An Illinois native, Wade admits that wearing Mike’s shoes is something he’s wanted since he was a kid. He broke out the Jordan 60+ Black/White-Varsity Red at a basketball clinic he hosted in Milwaukee earlier today for disadvantaged children. Expect to see Wade in exclusive Air Jordans this upcoming NBA season and the 60+ on shelves later this Fall.

A few minor changes to the colorway we previewed earlier this month have really taken this version of the Jordan PHLY Legend Premier a long way. Although we’ve seen the shoe in a boot-like colorway before, the corduroy lining and Madeira/Ginger accents really bring the model to a new level of distinction. I’ll be the first to admit that I was disappointed when news of the Air Jordan Hallowed Ground hybrids broke a few months ago. Taking elements from two of my favorite J’s (IX and X), the shoe should have sat well with me, but something just wasn’t right. Perhaps it was the subtly of the Air Jordan X inspired soles under the overpoweringly dark upper, a component far too valuable to be left to a second glace. That issue was helped when the White/Black/Red colorway showed up –  a definite improvement, but I still felt a sense of wasted potential. Finally, with pictures of a White/Deep Blue colorway surfacing, I feel like the shoe has been done justice. Nostalgia, common place amongst us Jordan fans, took over as I was reminded of the pair of Ice Blue Air Jordan X that I had adored so much. Not to mention that with the majority of the color found in the upper, the elements of the Air Jordan IX incorporated into the design are really brought out. With a well placed colorway, this model has gone from dropped to copped in my books. No word on a release date yet, but we’ll keep you posted.

Former Texas Tech wideout and San Franciso draftee Michael Crabtree joins Miami Heat Dwyane Wade guard as the latest signee to Jordan Brand. The 6′2″, 215 lbs. WR is hoping to become the next Jerry Rice in San Francisco. I’m not sure if that’s possible, but I’m definitely lookin’ forward to peeping all of those gold/red Jordan PEs! Congrats to Crabtree!

Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade made a sneaker switch and will be playing as the newest member of Jordan Brand beginning next season. He joins fellow NBA’ers Ray Allen, Carmelo Anthony, Rip Hamilton, Chris Paul, D.J. Augustin and several others on the Jumpman roster. DWade repped Converse last season, and it’s safe to say things didn’t end pretty. Dwyane effectively avoided rockin’ his final Cons signature shoe, the Wade IV (4), all last year!
