Many sneakerheads have already started referring to 2009 as the year of the Air Jordan I (1) simply due to the plethora of AJ1 releases we have seen over the course of the past few months. Earlier in the month, Jordan Brand rolled out the the first installment of their polka dot series, and it is almost time for the second installment to drop. This time around, the Air Jordan 1 is being decked out in a black upper with a clean white midsole and laser blue accents seen on the stitching, outsole, polka dots, and the Air Jordan Wings logo on the ankle. You can expect to see the Air Jordan I (1) Retro – Black/Laser Blue-White at your local retailers next month for a retail price of $100. Be sure to check out the detailed pictures after the ‘jump.’

We originally previewed the Air Jordan I (1) Low – Prom Pack in early March, and we now have new pictures and information to share. Jordan Brand will be releasing a Prom Pack consisting of two pairs of the Air Jordan I (1) Phat Low Premium on April 18, 2009. As one can infer by the name of this pack, both sneakers are made for Prom and thus feature patent leather uppers with thin laces. The white pair from the pack hosts a white upper with a black midsole and red accents while the black style hosts a black upper, black midsole, and red inner lining. Expect to see both sneakers from the Air Jordan I (1) Phat Low Premium Prom Pack at your local retailers on April 18, 2009 for a retail price of $100.

Last year, we previewed both the Air Jordan I (1) High – White / Green and the Air Jordan I (1) High – White / Varsity Red which are both part of a Do The Right Thing pack. It is now obvious that Jordan Brand will be bringing back the Metallic Air Jordan 1 Highs in 2009 and by what we see, the future looks quite promising. 2009 marks the 20th anniversary of Spike Lee’s Do The Right Thing film and Jordan Brand will be honoring the great director by releasing this pack of Metallic Air Jordan 1 Highs. The pack will consist of a white/sea green AJ1, a white/varsity red AJ1, and matching apparel. Both pairs feature quite simple colorways and the only unique detail about them is the inner lining. Both sneakers’ inner linings and the matching apparel are modeled after DTRT’s movie posters. The Do The Right Thing Air Jordan Pack is set to drop in July 2009 with each Air Jordan I (1) retailing for $105. Via SC.

Tomorrow, February 14, 2009, will mark the beginning of one of the biggest sneaker release weekends of 2009. With the Air Jordan 2009 (2K9) making its first nationwide debut along with two pairs of the Air Jordan I (1) Retro High releasing, your pockets might feel a little lighter after this weekend. Though the AJ 2009 was initially hated on by the majority of sneakerheads, many have changed their opinions on it after understanding the technology and inspiration behind the pair. The two Air Jordan 1 Retro Highs that are set to release are the Max Orange colorway and the Pewter colorway. The Pewter AJ1 has been slept on by most and online pictures truly do not do this pair justice. The Max Orange colorway was initially referred to as the infrared AJ1, but after new information was revealed, it was quite obvious that infrared is not included on this pair.
Jordan Brand has changed up some of their recent release dates and colorways. For one, they have changed up the Infrared Air Jordan 1 Retro High into Max Orange instead and now we are seeing evidence that the Air Jordan 1 – Blue Sapphire/Neon Turquoise-White has also been changed since being previewed a couple months ago. Previously this pair was thought to be composed of a full nylon upper and it seems as though Jordan Brand has reconsidered their material choice and has gone in the exact opposite direction. Now, this pair features a blue patent leather upper accented by a white midsole and a black tongue. Though the change comes as a surprise, it ends up giving the sneaker a much more attractive, shiny, and bold look. These are set to drop on March 14, 2009.
Set to release alongside the Portland Trailblazers Air Jordan Six Rings featured earlier today are the two pairs of Air Jordan I (1) Low Phats shown above. Though both pairs are inspired by the Portland Trailblazers, they are essentially the exact opposites of one another. The “away” colorway features a black base with a black patent leather toecap, a white swoosh, and a red jumpman logo on the tongue. The “home” colorway yields a white leather upper accented by a black swoosh with red stitching and a silver jumpman logo on the tongue. Both colorways include red midsoles and white outsoles.
Earlier this month, we showcased the Air Jordan “Trailblazers” Theme Releases which was a pack composed of three sneakers inspired by the Portland Trailblazers. The aforementioned preview only included a small depiction of what the sneakers looked like and now we are getting a detailed look at what one of the Air Jordan I (1) Low Phat’s will yield. Featuring a white upper accented by a black swoosh and a varsity red midsole, this pair has one of the cleanest colorways of the AJ 1 Low Phat we have to seen up to now. To further that cleanliness, Jordan Brand has added a clear, icey sole on this pair to give it an added touch. This pair is set to release on February 14, 2009 for a retail price of $95. Via SC.
