Remember the online spot that featured a gleeful Ronny Turiaf congratulating Kobe Bryant after the Mamba cleared an Aston Martin in the new Nike Hyperdunk? A sample Hyperdunk dedicated to the clever commercial recently emerged from the depths of sneaker obscurity. Toned in silver foil/mahogany hues, the shoe features the Aston hood ornament as a lacelock. Kobe in “pre-jump” posture is embossed on the tongue, and the progression of his leap for all of mankind is fastidiously tracked on the model’s leather insole. For now, you can expect the Nike Hyperdunk “Aston Martin” to stay locked away in the sample room.

Earlier today, we showcased the “big man” follow up to the Nike Hyperdunk, and we now present to you the Nike Hyperize which is essentially a guard’s sneaker. The Nike Hyperize will release in two new colorways during August and September. The August release features a black upper with sapphire and white accents while the September release hosts a toned down colorway of a white upper with black accents. The Nike Hyperize is quite technologically savvy with its zig-zag flywire upper, lunar foam midsole, and its flywire mid-foot support system. Please note that both pairs are only samples, and thus have the original development name “Hyperlite” on the ankle rather than the sneaker’s actual name,”Hyperize.”

With the plethora of new colorways of the Nike Hyperdunk and the Nike Zoom Kobe IV (4) being released as of late, a new sneaker for Kobe Bryant may come a surprise to some sneakerheads. There is no doubt that the Hyperdunk and ZKIV are two of Kobe’s best sneakers, and Nike hopes to continue their recent success with Bryant’s sneaker, the Nike Dream Season. The Dream Season takes much inspiration from the Zoom Kobe IV including key aesthetical aspects such as Kobe’s signature on the heel and a similar notch outsole. The Nike Dream Season is also set to yield a Phylon midsole and an air unit in the heel for added support and comfort. The Nike Dream Season is set to make its debut in Fall 2009. Via Kenlu.

The NBA All Star Weekend kicked off last night with the Rookie Challenge and today, the Haier Shooting Stars, Play Station Skills Challenge, Foot Locker Three-Point Shootout, and the Sprite Slam Dunk Contest all took place. The day was quite action packed with the underdog, Daequan Cook, winning the Three Point Contest while Derrick Rose won the Play Station Skills Challenge, and Team Detroit finished first in the Haier Shooting Stars. Sneaker wise, the day was also quite action packed with interesting sneaker choices from athletes including Michael Cooper rocking the Nike Think Pink – Hyperdunk and Dwight Howard rocking a Superman player exclusive colorway of the adidas TS Bounce Commander.

Though the new Nike Zoom Kobe IV has gained much attention over the past few months, many basketball players still prefer its high top counterpart, the Nike Hyperdunk. With the NBA All Star 2009 Game just around the corner, Nike Basketball has created two colorways of the Hyperdunk—one for the Eastern conference All-Stars and one for the Western conference All-Stars. Each pair directly correlates with the team’s jerseys. The “West” Nike Hyperdunk features a red upper while its Eastern counterpart yields a gradient blue upper. Both pairs come equipped with a white midsole, a white swoosh, and white laces. There is no word if these will be made available to the public or not, but be sure to stay tuned for updates. Three new colorways of the popular Hyperdunk will be hitting Foot Locker locations starting next week. The first of the three contains a white/red/black colorway that also features patent leather along the side of the sneaker. Consisting of a similar design, the second Hyperdunk uses black/white/university blue to make up its color scheme. Finishing the trio, the third Hyperdunk sports a white/navy/ice colorway which also bares the slogan “That Ain’t Right” from the infamous campaign ad on the translucent outsole.
