“Kicksmas” is how the season is celebrated over at FootLocker and Monday night’s preview event proved all of what to expect from jolly old Saint Nick this year. With 30 shoes on display, 10 of which were from The Black Pack (releases available now in stores or that are dropping on Black Friday), a handful of invited guests were all in for a treat at the Cabanas at the Maritime Hotel in NYC.

Aside from getting a preview to the upcoming kicks including the highly anticpated Air Jordan 3 Black/Cement and other Nike, Adidas, Reebok, and Under Armour releases, guests took in the night with non-stop hors d’oeuvres and sounds by sneaker aficionado and hip-hop heavyweight DJ Clark Kent.

As there’s apparently “No Basketball Anymore,” the lack of NBA games or a season for that matter has many of us in doubt. With player’s doing just about anything to stay active and bring in extra cash, Brandon Jennings is the latest to try his chances at a job with Foot Locker.

It seems as though Christmas is coming a little over than a month early for those of you sneakerheads who live in or around Pembroke Pines, Florida. After viewing Amar’e Stoudemire’s interview for a position at FootLocker, we now have learned that the New York Knicks superstar will actually be on hand to help with the festivities of the latest House of Hoops grand opening. Tomorrow, it is Pembroke Lakes Mall that will officially open the doors to its new House of Hoops location. Amar’e will be there to meet and greet fans, but also to lend a hand with the customary raffles and giveaways, which will include the big man’s Nike Air Max Sweep Thru. The Educators are back! Welcome back to school students! With summer break nearing the end for some, the fun and entertaining back-to-school themed “The Educators” series by Foot Locker returns. “The Educators 2″ showcases some of Nike’s most recognized stars as school staff like Amare Stoudemire as principal, Larry Fitzgerald as a science professor, and even Blake Griffin as the head of detention. Some sneakers making an appearance in the short clip include the Nike Air Max Jr “Freshwater”, Nike Zoom Hyperdunk 2011, Nike Air Max 2011, and many more. Enjoy the video after the jump!

A number of basketball players have recently been making appearances at select New York City sneaker stores- including Russell Westbrook, Chris Paul and Dwyane Wade. Now it’s time to shift the celebrity arena. Today, at 4pm, Bow Wow will be at the 120 34th Street FootLocker location in New York City. In case you’re unaware, Bow Wow plays a FootLocker employee in his new movie Lottery Ticket- so here’s your chance to meet the rapper/actor and perhaps even discuss any number of aspects of the sneaker culture.

To join in on the festivities surrounding Air Jordan’s 25th anniversary, Footlocker have released their own “The History of Air Jordan” online feature, much like the “History of Flight” feature set up by Nike. The “History of Air Jordan” features all numbered jays from 1-2009, with a brief detailed historical description of each, along with a fitting picture of the shoe, and shoes influenced by the silhouette that are available for purchase at Footlocker. To celebrate the 2008 Beijing Olympics and the Chinese National Men’s basketball team, Nike crafted two unique pairs of the Nike Hyperdunk Mid for the country. One pair, a red/black/gold affair, was sported exclusively by forward Yi Jianling (New Jersey Nets), while his teammates wore a red/black/yellow pair. The latter was produced in a limited format for the royal exclusivity of Footlocker’s House of Hoops but now is receiving a second breath of life through the standard Footlocker and catalog retailer Eastbay.
