Nike seems to be setting the gears in motion with a series of Foamposite inspired models, with the announcement of the Eggplant Big Nike to start the week, and now the unveiling of a Blue Foamposite Blazer High model to end it. With an upper similar to that of Penny Hardaway’s Air Foamposite 1, the colorway is completed with a black patent Swoosh and what appears to be a carbon fiber panel above the front of the midsole. No word on whether or not the two sneakers are part of a bigger Foamposite inspired collection, but we do know that the model will be hitting House of Hoops later this month.

The NBA All Star Weekend kicked off last night with the Rookie Challenge and today, the Haier Shooting Stars, Play Station Skills Challenge, Foot Locker Three-Point Shootout, and the Sprite Slam Dunk Contest all took place. The day was quite action packed with the underdog, Daequan Cook, winning the Three Point Contest while Derrick Rose won the Play Station Skills Challenge, and Team Detroit finished first in the Haier Shooting Stars. Sneaker wise, the day was also quite action packed with interesting sneaker choices from athletes including Michael Cooper rocking the Nike Think Pink – Hyperdunk and Dwight Howard rocking a Superman player exclusive colorway of the adidas TS Bounce Commander.

The 2009 NBA All Star Game is almost here and we now have pictures of two more Nike player exclusives to share. The first pair is a Nike Foamposite Lite Player Exclusive (PE) which will be worn by Amare Stoudamire of the Phoenix Suns. This Foamposite Lite features a red upper with an icey sole, a red metallic midsole, and gold graphics seen throughout the sneaker. The second pair (seen after the ‘jump’) is the Nike Air Max Spot Up which will be rocked by Dirk Nowitzki of the Dallas Mavericks. Featuring a red gradient upper accented by a white swoosh and a white toecap, this pair has a clean and sleek colorway. The Nike Air Foamposite One is definitely one of the most uniquely designed sneakers to ever be created and is always a huge hit amongst sneakerhreads when it is released. This Eggplant colorway of the Air Foamposite has been looked forward to for months now and these are the first detailed pictures we have of the pair that is set to release in February 2009. Featuring a varsity purple upper, black accents, and a clear sole, this pair is surely worth the wait. Caron Butler of the Washington Wizards has been wearing a player exclusive colorway of the Nike Foamposite Lite for a while now, but this is the first time we get a detailed look at the sneaker. The Foamposite Lite is known for its unique style and its superior performance on the court. This player exclusive colorway features a black upper accented by a blue sole, a gold Nike swoosh, and gold laces. The gold on this pair is reminiscent of the color found on the Washington Wizards’ jerseys. Featuring an armour-esque Polyurethane upper, and external heel counter, the Lite is augmented by a Carbon Fiber shank plate and 5mm Zoom Air bag embedded in the heel. Scans of Nike’s catalogs are usually one of the best ways to scope out what you’re interested in and what you’ll pass on. This scan of Nike’s Spring 2009 catalog proves what that Nike will be stepping their game up on all types of sneakers ranging from running to basketball and even to gradeschool sized sneakers. Above, you can see that a new Nike basketball sneaker, the Nike Game Five, will begin to release in January and will have another colorway release in March. Two of the more popular Nike sneakers, the Nike Air Foamposite One and the Nike Air Penny III, will release in February and March, respectively.
