Nike ended 2008 on a good note and released a series of Dunk Highs with a Vandal look to them, here’s a look at the two more models releasing this year. The past Dunk High Vandals sported solid make-ups while 2009 version take a different direction by incorporating a contrasted appearance. The first Dunk High Vandal consists of a black base with pink and white while the second model sports white and grey. Each Dunk High is composed of a nylon material and a vintage tongue tab. The Beautiful Losers x Nike Dunk High is definitely one of the most unique and creative Nike Dunk’s ever released. These Dunk Highs are inspired by the Beautiful Losers film documentary which focuses on the lives and struggles of various people including musicians and graffiti artists and other skateboarding related aspects. Selected scenes from the movie appear on the Beautiful Losers x Nike collection of Dunks, a design conceptualized by Jesse Leyva of Nike.  All of the Dunks in this collection feature a different image digitally printed onto the upper, a concept we have never seen before. An extremely limited amount of these sneakers were auctioned off on Ebay a couple months ago and it is now nearly impossible to find a pair.  You can check out a couple auctions on the ‘bay that currently have these for sale. Don’t take too long because this might be your only chance to cop this highly sought after collector’s item.

Neil Gaiman’s horror novella, Coraline, will be brought to life in the form of an animated film when it hits theaters on February 6th, 2009. To promote the movie, 1000 pairs of a limited edition Nike Dunk High has been created and can be won from watching the film and through the website. Creating countless works of art over the past few years, sneaker customizer Lazy is back at it again with his infamous denim customs. For those unfamiliar with the renowned customizer, Lazy released the Savage Dunk Low in 2005, but looks to apply a similar look to the 2009 version in Dunk High form. Savage Dunk High will be available this Sunday at 10 p.m EST and limited to only 11 pairs. Nike’s 6.0 division often gets forgotten and left in the shadow of Nike SB. However, to start the new year Nike has released this women’s Dunk High. Featured is a combination of a mean green swoosh and sole and turquoise and white paneling. In addition, a textured pattern appears on the toe and lacing area. Nike debuted their Supreme Spark Dunk High series last year with a few releases consisting of premium materials. Nike will expand the Supreme Spark line with this Dunk High that features black, pink and lime. The sneakers are made up of a black base overlaid with pink panels, lime laces and accents and finished with an icy sole. Releasing soon at Atmos and retailers worldwide.

Stones Throw Records celebrated their 10th anniversary with a collaboration with Nike SB and an artist under their label, Quasimoto. This SB Dunk High was designed for the members of Stones Throw and revolves around Quasimoto featuring his logo at the heel along with a dark oak and blue colorway. There are a lot of components that goes into this sneaker including a variety of materials that makes up the toe-box and side panels. The dark oak swoosh also sports an interesting pattern. Finishing off the Quasimoto Dunk High is the Stones Throw logo on the insole. Unfortunately, the Quasimoto Dunk High was given to some of the members of the record company and won’t be releasing in stores anytime soon. However, they do pop-up every now and then and you can find a pair now on eBay.
