Release Reminder: May 23, 2009

Ever since the Defining Moments Package (DMP) dropped back in 2006, sneakerheads worldwide wondered if a DMP2 would ever be released. Rumors spread a while ago that a new pack composed of two pairs of the Air Jordan 5 would be the sequel to the 2006 package, but nothing was confirmed at the time. And then not too long ago, we confirmed the rumors and showcased detailed pictures of each sneaker. Now, the time has finally come for the Air Jordan 5 Retro DMP to release. If you haven’t noticed by now, this package will consist of two sneakers: a red suede Air Jordan 5 and a black 3M Air Jordan 5, and will retail for $310.

The pack is officially labeled with Air Jordan 5 Retro DMP. Until now, we had been under the impression that the pack (officially releasing this weekend) would be called either the Toro Bravo Pack or Raging Bull Pack. Two pairs of Air Jordans will be included in packs this year, which have been nicknamed the Air Jordan ‘double-up’ packs as both pairs in the pack will be bundled with the same models. The Jordan 5 DMP will be available this Saturday at retailers worldwide. As usual, these sneakers are available early online on eBay and UTA.

Air Jordan VI (6) Sample - White / Gold

As most sneakerheads can vividly remember, the Air Jordan Defining Moments Package (DMP) released back in 2006, and it was composed of an Air Jordan XI (11) and an Air Jordan VI (6). The AJ6 from the package featured a black base with metallic gold accents. The majority of people loved it, and the “DMP” Air Jordan VI is still a greatly sought after sneaker today. Now, more than three years later, we see a glimpse of what could have been the pair included in the package rather than the black based sneaker. This pair features a white upper with gold accents seen on the heel, midsole, inner lining, and tongue. As previously mentioned this white/gold Air Jordan VI (6) is only a sample, and is not slated to release in the future.

Air Jordan Defining Moments Package (DMP) - Converse Samples

The Air Jordan Defining Moments Package (DMP) was definitely one of the best sneaker packages to ever release. The DMP consisted of the Air Jordan 6 (VI) DMP and the Air Jordan 11 (XI) DMP, two of the most sought after Air Jordan sneakers upto date. What most people are not aware of is the fact that Jordan Brand was going to make the DMP package contain three pairs of sneakers and retail at $500. The third sneaker that was planned to release was the Converse Pro Leather All-Star sample that is shown above. There was an extremely limited quantity of the Converse samples produced and they were all never made available to the public. This Converse Pro Leather All-Star features a white and gold colorway which is highlighted by the “23″ on the heel in Carolina Blue and the image of Michael Jordan making the game winning shot to win his first NCAA championship ever on the heel as well. Making this pair even more special is the fact that Michael Jordan himself wore the Converse Pro Leather All-Stars throughout his college career with the North Carolina Tarheels. These were never released to the public and will most likely never be released in the future either. Via RIF.
