Returning to the 1980′s, Puma is releasing a pack paying homage to the days in which they were one of the pioneers of material variety on a sneaker. At this point, Puma set themselves apart by defying all current conventions on color coordinations and style. The two shoes releasing in the pack include the Slipstream and Disc Blaze. The Slipstream features animal print hair, fluorescent accents, and a bright multicolored sole. The Disc Blaze is patterned in the same manner although the sole in not brightly colored and the lacing system maintains true to the Disc Blaze design. The Puma Disc Blaze model is one of the most interesting sneakers out there, and here’s a look at a new colorway that comes as a part of the Pony Cross Style pack. There is a wide array of materials used on these sneakers, some of which include reptile skin on the front area and fur on the toebox. Puma also puts together a great selection of colors, including black, yellow, and green. The Pony Cross Style Puma Disc Blaze sneaker is available now at select Puma retailers. Via Weekly Drop.

To get away from the dull, colorless releases that shoe companies put out, Puma has decided to take it back to the colorfully imaginative days, when all that mattered were ponies and crayons. The Puma Pony Cross Style Pack consists of two men’s shoes: the Slipstream Rainbow and Disc Blaze. It’s nice to see that Puma isn’t always using its more popular models such as the Suede or First Round. The Slipstream sports a white cheetah print with colorful stripes, black and pink ostrich leather, white midsole, and colorful outsole. The Disc Blaze represents dark horse hair with its black upper, white midsole, and green and lime green panels. Check out this pack set for release August 2009.

PUMA recently released a black/pink/grey version and chocolate brown/yellow/white pair of their summertime classic, the Disc Blaze MN II (2). The shoe’s laceless upper is fit by a Trinomic Fit Wheel, a contraption that affords the wearer a customizable fit. Under the foot, the Blaze NM features PUMA’s CELL cushioning for that extra lil’ bounce in your step as you go about your day. The model features a predominantly mesh upper with synthetic leather accents. The PUMA Disc Blaze NM II (2) is available now overseas at select PUMA Lifestyle accounts.

PUMA’s Summer 2009 Collection is looking like a sizzler, as the brand is set to release new versions of the laceless Disc Blaze. Each shoe features a predominantly mesh upper, Trinomic fit wheel, and hyper-responsive CELL cushioning underfoot. The PUMA Summer 2009 Disc Blaze Pack will hit retailers in July. Via Vagant.

Puma’s Disc Blaze has been seen only a few color-ways over the past few months, but is featured in Puma’s Holiday 2008 line-up. One model in particular from the upcoming collection consists of dark and light tones used for contrasting stitching and patent leather logo stripe. Anyone who grew up around the 90′s must remember the movie The Goonies, a dramatic tale of kids thirsting for the taste of treasure, but ending up running into pirates. The movie manages to incorporate some of its elements including a skull theme along with hemp. 23 years, its pretty surprising to see this one time silver screen movie being remembered in the form of a Puma Disc Blaze.
