Ray Allen isn’t the only Jordan Brand-sponsored NBA player who gets his own Christmas player exclusive shoe tomorrow. Carmelo Anthony of the Denver Nuggets, who will be playing against the Portland Trailblazers tomorrow, has a choice between two Christmas colorways for his signature shoe to rock tomorrow. Veteran guard Allen Iverson was shipped to Detroit by way of Denver in a shocking trade that flip-flopped the aforementioned A.I., Chauncey Billups, Antonio McDyess, and a couple of young rookies as teams from opposite conferences jockeyed for year-end playoff positioning. Earlier today, we featured the Reebok Answer XII Blue/Red/White “Pistons” color scheme, and last week, we explained Allen Iverson’s corrlelation with the British poem Invictus. Reebok is celebrating AI’s time in the Rockies with this buttery smooth black/powder blue/yellow “Nuggets” color scheme of the XII. Expect this joint to hit retailers during NBA All-Star Weekend. Since making the move to the Detroit Pistons via a trade with the Denver Nuggets, Allen Iversons’ Reebok Answer XII (12) has been wearing a red, white and blue model, but here’s a look at the Nuggets and All Star edition. The first style features Iverson former teams colors of black, yellow and blue while the other Answer XII sports the Eastern Conference colors of red, white and blue. “What does it mean to come home?” ponders Denver Nuggets floor leader and Colorado native Chauncey Billups. The guard recently peregrinated back to his birthplace after a long stint in Detroit, reinvigorating the city that watched him transform from a three-time “Mr. Basketball” recipient at George Washington High School into a do-everything scorer for the Colorado Buffaloes.

Billups recently teamed up with adidas to manufacture a unique version of the brand’s TS Creator Mid in celebration of Chauncey’s career with the Buffs that’ll be worn in tonight’s Thanksgiving Day game. The shoe is distinguished by glimmering gold upper and personal messages that hearken back to the guard’s days in the Big Twelve. More specifically, the model includes “Go Buffs” on the medial ankle collar and CB’s initials and nickname “Mr. Big Shot” on the lateral side.

The Three Stripes will host an exclusive auction for TS Creator Thanksgiving Day shoe starting on Friday, November 28, 2008. Only 11 pairs, exact replicas of the pair worn by Chauncey on Tofurkey Day, will be numbered and autographed by Billups. Bidding will start at $100 and will run for one week ending on Thursday, December 4th, 2008. To place a bid, please go here.

All proceeds will go to the Porter-Billups Leadership Academy, a local Denver academic institute providing disadvantaged youth optimal opportunities and resources to achieve success and receive diplomas. Billups has been actively involved it all elements of the non-profit organization since 2006.

For those who you who were watching the Denver Nuggets battle the Los Angeles Lakers, you may have caught a glimpse of Carmelo Anthony sporting his new Air Jordan Melo M5 in a Denver Nuggets colorway. This model is designed to match the team’s colors and are made up of a white base with blue panels and gold accents. No word on whether these are a player exclusive made just for Carmelo or if they ever will hit store shelves, but we will keep you guys posted. Via Yahoo.

In a trade that seemingly came out of left field, veteran guard Allen Iverson of the Denver Nuggets was shipped to the Detroit Pistons for clutch shooting guard Chauncey Billups, reliable forward Antonio McDyess, and rookie Cheikh Samb. I wondered whether adidas and Reebok would be ready to suit up their two signature studs in footwear to match their new uniforms–each company had only days to manufacture new product for their players. Saturday night provided us with an answer, (Pun not intended!) with Billups rocking out in a Pistons-themed blue/red/white iteration of his adidas TS Creator Mid and Iverson switching between the ’07 and Answer XII (7). Both athletes have been rewarded significantly by their sponsor companies, each recieving their own product for the 2008 season. (CB recieves only his own colorway, mind you.
