The Nike Cortez Brothers Doubles Pack consists of a navy blue nylon Cortez and metallic Nike Cortez Flymotion. The two-pair package is accompanied by two playful figurines (the toys were produced by tokyoplastic) of Phil Knight and Bill Bowerman, the brand’s founders. Overkill will be hosting a pre-release party of the Nike Cortez Brothers Pack on February 14, 2009. The shoes should release in limited amounts around the world shortly after. Via Overkill.

For the 2008 MTV Europe Music Awards, Nike created the Cortez Multipack, a two pair package released with the Vintage Cortez and newly designed Cortez Flymotion Hybrid. The sneakers are made up of a black with white and  color scheme with specific numbers on the heel. The back of the Vintage Cortez reads “274″ for the number of times The Beetles played at the Cavern Club. Secondly, “43″ appears on the Cortez Flymotion Hybrid, indicating the location of the Zanzibar rock club. Both numbers are references to venues in Liverpool, the host city of the award show that was held last November. The pack will be limited to 72 pairs worldwide with Size? being among the select carrier of the sneakers.

There have been several interesting creations from Nike’s hybrid department, but one in particular is the Nike Cortez Free Flywire, a classic sneaker that features new technology. The Cortez consists of a Free sole and Nike Flywire technology, a combination that results in a lighter and more comfortable Cortez.
