Converse is evidently busy, as seen through the progress of the Converse (PRODUCT) Red line. But Converse also has its hands fully immersed in a project that seems to be coming along pretty well. We now have a preview for you of Converse’s First String program. In the spring of 2010, Converse plans to release three sneaker models as part of the “First String” collection.

One sneaker model sports a rather low-key, subtle design with monotone colorways on completely white soles. The second model comes in 3M material and is designed for your track star’s workout regiment. Lastly, this collection will also include a high-top leather shoe design that sports leather material and a zipper that runs from the top of the shoe’s heel to its bottom. You can expect this “First String” collection to drop at certain Converse retail accounts beginning around Spring time of 2010.

Converse and Dwyane Wade Reissue WADE 1 Signature Shoe

Growing up, Dwyane Wade evolved his game on the asphalt and in the dimly lit Richards High School gym in Robbins, Illinois, playing for hours in the stifling Midwestern summertime heat. His tireless determination and undying persistence helped him overcome academic issues at Marquette University, leading the Golden Eagles to the Final Four in ’03. DWade’s success has continued at the game’s highest level, where his tedious practice habits, unmatched skill set and poised leadership have merited five NBA All-Star Game appearances and the coveted NBA Finals MVP Award in 2006. In 2008-09, Wade has put on the bookbag, decimating would-be defenders with an assortment of chopped goodies and watery range that’s got Floridians proclaiming “WADE County” once again. He’s averaging 30.2 points per outing, which is tops in the league, and has transformed the undervalued Miami Heat from likely pretenders to unprecedented contenders. Through it all, Dee’s sported variations of his first signature shoe, the WADE 1. Converse reissued the shoe in all of its black/white/red glory to celebrate their stud’s stat-stuffing season. The Converse Wade 1 is available now in limited numbers at Champs for $90. Via Bounce.
