In 2009, Converse is celebrating its 101st birthday. In celebration of this momentous accomplishment, the Boston, Massachusetts brand is working their timeless Weapon Mid, a technical hoops model initially released in 1986. The Weapon Dual Strap combines the “Y-Bar” ankle supp0rt system, thick midsole, and reinforced toebox (Or elements of old) with a dual-strapped, Reebok Ex-O-Fit-inspired support system above the model’s ankle collar. Expect the high-rising shoe to release sometime in early ‘09 in a bevy of lifestyle color schemes. The Converse Blog.

“Dwayne Wade’s belief is stronger than your doubt.” Travel along with Wade and Converse as they chronicle the guard’s ascension towards superstardom amidst doubters, haters, and academic problems. I love this commercial and have loved Dwayne since I saw him play in person years ago when he was at Marquette. His game is the epitome of smooth, a combination of basketball savvy and calculated athleticism. I also dig the Wade IV, (Though a Chevron logo across the middle panel would’ve been exponentially hotter than the standard circle-star format!) a shoe that’s been met with plenty of displeasure on message boards across the Internet.
