February 14th is not only the celebratory day of love, but to a major population, the day calls for festivities to celebrate the New Year. Chinese New Year makes its way on the 14th next month to commemorate the Year of the Tiger, and to continue with tradition, Nike Sportswear will be releasing another special shoe. The Nike Sportswear Cortez Classic comes in a stunning visual design, taking influence from the tiger. The Nike Cortez features a snow white nylon upper and a golden silk-screened tiger stripe pattern, with horsehair added in the mix to really make this shoe live. Celebratory symbols are placed throughout the shoe, but it doesn’t stop there. The shoes are available in a specially designed pull-out box that screams ingenuity. PUMA’s celebration of the Chinese New Year furthers with this duo of Basket Brights pay homage to the upcoming holiday. The Basket is dressed in two colorways white/neon green and black/orange. Each features special details including a reflective material on each of the logo stripes and heel logos. Falling on January 26th, 2009, Chinese New Year has been the center of attention for a few sneaker brands including Reebok. The latest sneaker commemorating the holiday is the Pump Omni Lite. Made up of the traditional red, black and gold color scheme, this Pump Omni Lite is designed with an ornate print in black and a gold ox on the back of the sneaker signifying the year of the ox. On January 26th, people around the world will celebrate Chinese New Year, however this holiday will be approached early by Puma who have just released this First Round High devoted to the celebration. Unlike the previous brown colorway, this First Round features a more traditional look utilizing a red and gold colorway with a dragon-like design on the upper.
