Our PHLI homie Dave Jeff, has sent us pics of the Chicago Lebron VII. Though not much information is given, Dave let us know that there will only be 123 per city. There are a couple cities listed for their own colorway and Dave has made it clear that someone might be going home with a pair of these at the Sneakerpimps show in Philly. The highly anticipated, first-ever Nike Sportswear store in Chicago has finally opened its doors to the public. AKIN celebrated its grand opening on Saturday with raffles, giveaways, performances, live music and a Nike Sportswear Spring 2010 fashion show. AKIN also introduced its own brand and launched several independent brands like Potential Villain, Kiks TYO, Wrong Wroks and Royal Mindset. During the opening, there were several past releases that caught people by surprise. One of the eye-catchers was the World Cup AF1 Pack in full size runs and older patent leather Air Force 1’s that released in April 2006. Not only does AKIN cater to the Nike Head, but they also pay attention to the Jordan Head with box prices for just about every release that has been in demand these past few years. AKIN also carries Converse, Puma, Adidas, Countdown Packs, limited Quickstrikes, and other heat you may have missed - all for retail. They most likely will have your size, but call and check first. Enough with the talk though, this is a place you will have to check out for yourself.

Last Year, Sneakerfiles introduced the first ever sneaker boutique and barbershop establishment called Born with soul (Kuts and Kicks) for their grand opening recap. Now, the shop that was featured on CNBC and Slam Magazine will be having their 1 year anniversary in collaboration with Sneakerfiles.com in Chicago this coming Sunday. Born with Soul will also be releasing their first shop tee’s in limited quantities.  DJ’s in line will be Hollywood Holt, Vic Lloyd from LDRS and more. There will also be a Midwest ISS and Niketalk summit in the same place.

This past weekend, Many Sneakerheads lined up all over America for the Net Nike Air Yeezy release. The ‘Net/Net’ colorway is the only Nike Air Yeezy pair to consist of a glow in the dark swoosh (of the 3 that released this far). Beau Monde in Gurnee, has collaborated with Heydey footwear on the first ever Beau Monde signature sneaker that is a concept much different from other signature footwear.  Limited to only 48 pairs with a size run from 8 – 13. The shoe comes in white full-grain leather with 3M straps and piping, gum bottoms and wax laces. Laser etched on the top 3M panels are the Beau Monde logos and “#1 With A Bullet” on the bottom panel. The phrase “#1 With A Bullet” doesn’t refer to anything violent, but it’s a reference to the Billboard charts. When a record hits number one on the charts, it gets a bullet by it because it made it to the top spot and it will continue to rise to an even higher level on the charts.  Though the pictures are just the sample, keep a look out for the final product soon this summer.

Custom sneaker artist St!zo, has generated a new custom from the lab with the inspiration of Takashi Murakami, The designer behind Kanye West’s Graduation album and Louis Vuitton. The Dunk High displays similar characteristics of Murakami’s art and a touch of St!zo. Detail and color are both displayed on just about every part of the shoe.
