We last saw the Converse Skidgrip Low when it was part of the Original Jams Pack. This time, Converse has released the Converse Skidgrip Expo Okinawa to celebrate the lively colors of the equally lively island. The Skidgrip loosely resembles the Vans Authentic or Vans Era, especially with the similar shape of the toebox and stitching pattern. The shoe uses a canvas upper with a black toebox and a colorful air-brushed-like upper, with a white midsole to keep it clean. To finish it off Converse style, the shoe features the trademark heel tag. This shoe is available now for about $75.

PUMA has taken a step to step up its game by collaborating with designer brand Yves Saint Laurent (YSL). The shoe uses an all-black leather upper with perforated ankle panels and a black midsole and sole to make a blacked-out high fashion shoe. The shoe combines a luxurious YSL pair with some Puma flair to create the ultimate in casual and semi-formal wear. The shoe will be available on the online boutique or local YSL store and probably for a 3-digit price tag.

After presenting the last Nike Blazer Mid, another one was sure to pop up soon. The Nike Blazer Mid is now in a black/metallic silver colorway, for all the fans to rejoice. Throughout the whole shoe is a black and grey mesh-like material, followed by a metallic silver swoosh, although not like the one on the Tiffany’s. Alife has come up with two new colorways to follow up with the previous release of the Alife Everybody Mid Parachute Nylon Grid Pack. This time around, the Everybody’s are in red/white and white/black/yellow, for everybody to enjoy. The uppers are made of nylon and follow a parachute all-over design in the aforementioned colors. Both shoes use black vulcanized toecaps, white midsoles, and yellow tongue tags that read “alife new york city.”

For Summer 2009, Puma has come up with the Puma R-968 Mesh Limited Edition Pack, which consists of the R-968 model in three different colorways. The shoes feature combinations of white/sax/black/orange, white/red, and black/grey/white. The R-968 promises to be a breakthrough Puma model, using mesh material all throughout the shoe, along with suede and speckled panels, and other staple textiles. The intensity of the first colorway marks the presence of the Reebok-like model, with the following of two simple yet clean colorways. Also, the shoe uses Trinomic technology for ultimate performance, and showcases the Trinomic name on the back heel panel and midsole. It’s no longer all about the Vans Sk8 Hi; Vans is putting its efforts in the Vans Sk8 Mid, releasing two new colorways of the shoe. The two colorways are featured in leprechaun/true white and black/red/true white, using an all leather upper on the first pair and a combination of leather and suede on the second. Both shoes use a white midsole and soles in yellow and red, respectively. The inner lining also features a check pattern, which is staple for many Vans’ models.
