Reebok Berlin - Black, Grey

After seeing many gaudy releases from Reebok that haven’t received the best ratings, it’s nice to see that the shoe company still remembers that simple is sweet. The Reebok Berlin comes in two colorways: black and grey. Both shoes have black and grey leather uppers and metal lace holes, along with white midsoles. These high tops feature the classic Reebok symbol on the high tongue tag. Also, the shoe has accents of snakeskin leather throughout the shoe to give it some flavor.

Star Trek x Staple x Airwalk Terrain

To help boost the promotion of the silver screen release of “Star Trek,” the people behind the sci-fi film have enlisted the help of skate shoe company Airwalk to come up with something unheard of: a Star Trek shoe collaboration. The Star Trek x STPL x Airwalk Terrain features a black tarnished leather upper and black midsole, with a grey mesh tongue. The uncanny resemblance of the Airwalk “A” symbol and the Star Trek shield symbol made this collaboration even better, placing the ST logo on the tongue, laces, and back ankle tab. “NCC-1701″ is stitched on the side heel to match the U.S.S. Enterprise, and the STPL name is found on the side ankle tab. To finish it off, “Star Trek” is printed in white on a red insole, stating the purpose of the shoe. This shoe is limited to 110 pairs for men and 20 for children, and is only available at Reed Space NYC now. Stay tuned for another Star Trek shoe later this fall, and if you haven’t seen the movie, I strongly suggest you do. Live long and prosper, sneakerheads.

Nike Zoom Hustle

As a part of Nike’s “Refresh” regime, Nike is releasing the Nike Zoom Hustle, which is a “refreshed” version of the Nike Hyperflight. This black colorway shoe has the same technology as the Hyperflight’s, but with a re-vamped design. The shoe uses an all-black patent leather upper with a black sole to give that black on black look. The tongue reads “FRESH” with visual emphasis on the letters “RE” to accentuate the “Refresh” line. These are set to drop fall 2009 so be on the lookout at Footlocker when October or November come around.

Vans Chukka Low Spring '09

It seems like every shoe company just loves the spirit of spring time and Easter. Vans is no exception with its release of the Vans Chukka Low in yellow/black and seafoam/black as part of their spring 2009 collection. The Chukka Low’s use both suede and canvas uppers instead of the typical canvas only, and are contrasted by white midsoles with black lining and a black Vans heel tag. Black is also used to offset the colors on the laces, lace holes, tongue, and inner lining. These Chukka’s are sure to be fave’s for either gender, so don’t hesitate to cop these for about $55.
