Asics’ Gel Lyte III is back with a brand new Black and Yellow colorway. Although the color scheme has recently been considered a type of ‘unspoken property’ belonging to Lance Armstrong’s LiveStrong campaign, the shoes don’t need a charity affiliation to make use of the fresh color combination. Asics looks poised to drop some heat for us sneakerheads this holiday season. Most recently, we got a look at an Asics Gel Lyte III in a brown colorway. However, Asics is far from done. We now bring you word of the release of two pairs of the Asics Gel Lyte Speed. The Speed is a more lightweight version of the Asics Gel Lyte III, and was designed specifically with experienced runners in mind. The two pairs pictured here are part of what is being called a “Surface” pack. One pair sports a predominantly grey suede upper meant to represent the road, and it also contains red and white accents meant to make us think of road signs. The second pair sports green to represent grass for those runs that are off the road and moreso on the track. It also contains a mud-splattered sole and pair of shoe laces, while some more brown can be spotted on the ankle lining. This pack has already begun to release from select European retailers, so for stateside fans, we might need to try our luck online unless we can get a hold of an overseas connect. The Asics Gel Lyte III model is always welcome in our hearts, so Asics released a couple colorways to fit this year’s winter theme. The Asics Gel Lyte III makes a holiday appearance in brown/beige and black/grey. Both pairs have uppers that consist of suede, mesh, and leather combinations in their respective color schemes. While we were able to bring you a teaser pic of the result of a collaboration between HighSnobiety and Asics, little could be told from the picture. Not to worry, though. We now have pictures of the finalized producted to show you. This pair of Asics Gel Lyte III has an upper actually made of pig skin and patent leather, while the colorway is mainly blue and grey. A big collaboration like this begs a big release date- and big it is. These will go on sale both online and in-store from the DavidZ shop at 556 Broadway between Prince and Spring streets in New York City. 200 pairs have been set aside for online sales, while only 18 will be able to be purchased in-store. At the end of August, the Asics crew applied an eye-opening “blue jumbo” colorway on its famous Gel Lyte III. Now, the same silhouette is in midst of being reworked by the Asics crew again- only this time the HighSnobiety crew is on the job as well. Previewed here is the result of said collaboration- a Gel Lyte III with what seems to be a predominantly grey upper and blue suede on the mid panels and toe box. We’ll be sure to give you a look at the finished product once more detailed pictures surface.

Asics is chock full of ideas, which they in turn relay onto its shoes. The Asics Gel Lyte III is its latest victim, as it is released in a army-like olive/black/orange colorway. This dark tone shoe gives off a rugged vibe, especially with the crackled grey midsole, which is placed atop a dominantly black outsole with olive and orange accents. The black upper is executed in leather and mesh, along with olive suede and leather with orange outlining. The laces sport black and orange to nicely match the theme of the shoe, which is available now for about $123.
