Nike brings their Air Alpha Force II back in one of its most popular OG colorways. Worn by Sir Charles back when he laced up for Philadelphia, the model utilizes the classic 76ers Red/White/Varsity Blue color scheme. Nearly identical to the version released back in 1988, the new retro edition features Barkley’s number, 34, on the heel panel. The nostalgic model is available now from House of Hoops locations.

Combining two sneaker models in attemps to create an updated product has become a disturbingly prevalent trend of the sneaker industry over the past couple of years. Some call it a lack of creativity and others are overjoyed by the fact that they can find their two favorite sneakers in one pair. Referred to as hybrids or fusions, the Nike Alphalution & Nike Sharkalaid are two Nike Basketball sneakers that will release in 2009. The Nike Alphalution is the product of the combination between the Nike Alpha Force and the Nike Air Revolution. The Sharkalaid is the hybrid between the Nike Air Shake and the Nike Air Raid, two of the elite outdoor basketball sneakers ever produeced by Nike. The Nike Alphalution features a clear air bubble under the heel and a strap on top of the laces in order to provide comfort and support. On the other hand, the Nike Sharkalaid includes a rubber outsole and two straps which provide players with the traction and flexibility needed to play on outdoor courts. The Nike Alphalution will retail for $100 and the Sharkalid for $88. Both models are expected to release in Summer of 2009. Via NT.
