Converse 100th Anniversary Chuck Taylor All Star High - Wajima

The city of Wajima is known for their lacquerware and is spotlighted on Converse’s 100th Anniversary Chuck Taylor All Star High. By definition, lacquer is “a clear or coloured varnish that dries by solvent evaporation and often a curing process as well that produces a hard, durable finish.” This design is featured on two All Star Highs available in black with red trim and red with black trim. Both styles feature glossy uppers with subtle accents that produces a simple appearance. You can find the WaJima Chuck Taylor All Star Highs now at Flauge.

Converse All Star High Grateful Dead

While Vans pays homage to legendary rock group KISS, Converse has also made large strides to recognize influential people/groups in music including the Grateful Dead. The Grateful Dead was originally formed in 1965 and used several styles of music including rock, folk, bluegrass, reggae and many others. Converse takes note to their contributions and releases the All Star High dedicated to the group. The All Star High uses a subtle combination of a white base, black accents and large graphic of a female skeleton. Check with your local Journeys for the Grateful Dead All Star High as they have already appeared online.
