Two new versions of the Air Jordan I (1) have surfaced at select Jordan Brand accounts several weeks earlier than expected. The purple/yellow I (incorrectly dubbed the “Lakers” I) is inspired by MJ’s fraternity, Omega Psi Psi. The other pair to hit prematurely is the versatile black/shadow grey version that features textured leather overlays. Both variations are draped in chenile or “varsity leather.” The Air Jordan I (1) in purple/yellow and black/shadow grey is available now at select Jumpman retailers.

Back on March 28, 1990, Michael dropped 69 points on the Cleveland Cavs. This navy blue/orange (Before the wine/gold/navy, Cleveland sported orange/blue/white.) rendition of the Air Jordan I (1) Retro Phat Premier celebrates the iconic outburst in style. The shoe’s Midnight Navy wool upper is complimented by premium leather overlays. A ceramic orange outsole and fuzzy Swoosh bring this AJ1 together. The Air Jordan I (1) Retro Phat Premier 60 + Collection “Cleveland Cavaliers” will drop at Jordan Brand retailers worldwide this November.

In 1987, Michael Jordan dropped 61 points to ward off the Detroit Pistons, 125-120. That illlustrious performance from way back in the day is the subject of this Air Jordan I (1) Retro Phat Premier. Toned in Pistons blue/red, the I features a premium tumbled leather upper with canvas accents. A terrycloth fabric Swoosh stitched ‘cross the midfoot finishes things off. The Air Jordan I (1) Retro Phat Premier 60+ “Detroit Pistons” will hit House of Hoops and select Nike accounts this December.

Michael went for 61 against the Atlanta Hawks on April 16, 1987. This Air Jordan I (1) Phat Premier High in black/red is part of Jordan Brand’s 60+ Collection. The black/red scheme features a premium leather upper with yellow contrast stitching, a nod to Atlanta’s uniforms. The reissue’s Swoosh features fabric detailing. The Air Jordan I (1) Phat Premier High “Atlanta Hawks” will hit retail shelves this October.

The Air Jordan I (1) Hi Strap is now available for grade school children in a vibrant techno blue/vivid pink color scheme. This monstrosity of a shoe a tonal techno blue upper that’s finished off by a premium patent leather Swoosh. Vivid pink accents compliment the model’s canvas strap and provide more of a feminine friendly Jumpman on the tongue. An official release date for the Air Jordan I (1) Hi Strap “Techno Blue” GS in Japan is scheduled for June 13. The release date for the shoe here in America is unknown, but we’ll come through with an update when conclusive information surfaces!

Love it or hate it, 2009 is slowly and steadily becoming the year of the Air Jordan I (1). With releases such as the Pewter Air Jordan 1 Retro High and the Air Jordan I (1) Retro High Strap – A Tribe Called Quest, Jordan Brand is bringing back their first numbered model with unique and new colorways. The latest Air Jordan 1 to be featured is the AJ1 Low seen above which puts a new twist on the classic cement print most known for its appearance on the Air Jordan III (3). This pair yields a white upper with brown cement print on the toebox and midpanel, a beige swoosh, and a begie outsole. Overall, this Air Jordan 1 Low yields a clean and simple colorway which nicely contrasts with the unique brown cement print. An official release date is unknown, but they are now available on the ‘Bay.
