As 2009 waits in the wings, Nike recently dropped a dark obsidian/white iteration of their timeless Air Max 90 runner. The shoe features a white midsole and Swoosh and is augmented by an Air Max unit embedded in the heel. Mesh lines the toebox. Just a few days ago a Nike Air Max 90 appeared on Size? and is reportedly a Europe exclusive release, here’s a look at an almost identical model which might released worldwide. This version is composed of a similar make-up that includes premium suede and perforated nubuck on the upper. However, the Air Max 90 gets a few minor tweaks by consisting of a black swoosh and heel with neon turquoise accents. With 2008 having a few standout Nike Air Max 90s like the sought after Infrared release, 2009 will also showcase a few styles along the lines of the ideal look of the Air Max 90. This version sports white, neon turquoise and rave pink. The base color consists of white, while rave pink accents, neon turquoise swoosh and black mudguard make up the rest of the upper. 2009 will be filled with tons of classic reissues brought back by Nike, but the brand will also focus on releasing new colorways of popular styles already on shelves. Since initiating the Nike Doernbecher Freestyle Charity Program 5 years ago, Mark Smith will be designing the 5th anniversary sneaker. The Air Max 90 is chosen to be to commemorate the project involving Nike and the Doernbecher Children’s Hospital. This Air Max 90 consists of a white upper complimented by orange and a multicolored swoosh. A detailed inner lining can also be found on the inside of the sneaker.
