Matt Stevens is a professional designer and sneakerhead. As such, it’s only natural to take his talents in multimedia and design into the sneaker world and create something unlike anything else – Max100: The Book Project. The Max100 showcases his creativity and versatility in the form of 100 illustrations of what he, and many of us, considers as “the greatest sneaker of all time”, the Air Max 1. Tinker Hatfield revolutionized the industry by creating the shoe with a visible air sole unit. Something that has never been done prior to 1987, which sparked a whole new era in footwear design. It’s no surprise why this classic has been a staple in sneaker heads’ closets everywhere. With our help and donations, we can make this project happen and bring to life, a well executed tribute to the AM1. Donations can be made on the Kickstarter website.

Here we have a look at the second Air Max 1 from the Air Max Omega pack.

Light charcoal is seen on the upper in the form of both suede and mesh panels. Blue hits along parts of the upper along with electric green laces and outsole make this Air Max 1 quite the eye pleaser.

Two of Tinker Hatfield’s first masterpieces meet again to conceive a new colorway of the Safari Air Max 1. Compared to the other Fall 2009 models we showed you last month, the simple color scheme certainly sets the stage for a more subtle, everyday look. Featuring white mesh with grey and blue suede, the black-on-blue Safari print and yellow eyelets are definitely worth a second look.  Available now from Standard or your local Nike retailer.

Nike’s iconic safari print has made its way onto a plethora of sneakers this year, including an Air Max Classic BW and a Hyperize, and we now have a look at a safari pack composed of four pairs of the Nike Air Max 1. All four styles are made exclusively in ladies’ sizes and feature a mesh toe box, safari mid-panel, and a tonal sole. The four styles now available in stores include: purple/orange, red/blue, white/blue, and black/orange. Be sure to check out all four variations of the “Safari” Nike Womens Air Max 1, which are now available at your local retailers.

Last month, we reported that an OG colorway of the Nike Air Max 1 would be releasing this month, and we now have more information and pictures to share. The Air Max 1 will be making a comeback overseas via a white/red and white/blue style next month. Both variations of the AM1 were released years ago and feature very bright and simple color schemes. The first pair yields a white upper with grey and red accents, while the second sneaker hosts a white upper with grey and blue accents. These two original colorways of the Nike Air Max 1 will release as quickstrikes in Berlin on July 1, 2009.

Chien-Ming Wang, a Taiwanese  pitcher who is currently playing for the New York Yankees, recently teamed up with the folks over at Nike to design a new colorway of the Air Max 1. This time around, the AM1 host a white premium leather upper with black accents seen on the mid-sole and inner tongue, while gold accents are visible via the stitching, heel, out-sole, and lace holes. A couple key features of this pair include the baseball-like stitching which goes around the whole sneaker as well as the inner tongue which yields Wang’s jersey number, 40. The “Chien-Ming Wang” Nike Air Max 1 Premium is expected to release in Taiwan on July 10, while U.S. retailers will be receiving their shipments later this year.

Earlier this year, we previewed some of the upcoming colorways of the Nike Air Max 1, and we now have a detailed look at two styles which both utilize quite a bit of safari print. The first variation hosts a white synthetic mesh upper accented by a purple swoosh, grey suede mid-panels, a black out-sole, purple safari print, and purple inner lining. The second sneaker from this Safari Pack yields a similar color scheme while the purple accents are replaced by yellow accents. Be sure to check out both styles of the Nike Air Max 1 ND from the Safari Pack in the Fall of 2009.
