2010AJII1

Earlier this year, a lot of sneaker- and jordanheads got really excited upon getting word of a possible Slam Dunk Package from Jordan Brand, which could include white/cement grey III’s and white/red/black II’s. The AJ II got even more love when we showed you a preview picture of the Air Jordan 2010, in which an AJII can be spotted in the background.

Now, we bring you a look at another Air Jordan II retro reportedly releasing at some time in 2010. This pair comes in a predominantly white upper with silver/grey accents most notably on the toe box and heel of the shoe. And as a result of the silver/grey materials used, depending on how the light hits your shoe, you could or could not get the same reflective look as seen on certain AJV’s, for example. What do you guys think? Is this a nice look for the AJII? Who’s buying these? Check out more pix after the jump.

AJ165

When we brought you word of Jordan Brand’s plans to release a 16.5, we also informed you of an anticipated release month of somewhere close to November, 2009. For all of you who enthusiastically await one of the cleanest “.5″ Jordan designs ever, the first colorway of the 16.5 is now available for purchase in mid-October for a retail price of $124.99. Borrorwing cues from the AJ XVI such as its sole and patent leather toe box, the 16.5 also subtly borrows things from the AJ XVII such as the laces area and “peel off” sticker that comes on the heel of the shoe. If you’re looking for something founded on two amazing Air Jordan silhouettes but all-the-while new as well, this Air Jordan 16.5 might be just what you’re looking for.

AJSpizPatent

The Air Jordan Spizike is quickly becoming one of, if not the, most renown team Jordan silhouettes ever. Whether it be the colorway, or the materials used, or the concept behind it, it seems as though any and every Spizike garners considerable attention. In the middle of the summer we got a sneak peek of one pair that came in a rather busy colorway highlighted by flint grey and black patent leather used on the upper and midsole, respectively. Now we bring you a look at a pair of Air Jordan Spizike’s that sports an entirely black patent leather upper with a hint of red accents on the ankle lining. Some more subtle touches include a clear lacelock, clear netting, and a group of letters placed on the laces- although the word that they spell out still can’t be deciphered. As always, we’ll bring you the most up-to-date information regarding this sneaker as soon as we have it.

AJ2010

At the end of last month, we encountered what seemed to be a cellular phone picture taken of what is reportedly the Air Jordan 2010. Many of you had much more to say about/hope for the pair of Air Jordan II’s spotted in the background of that image and reportedly a part of a 2010 Slam Dunk pack that could also be including a pair of white/cement grey III’s . That could’ve been because of fans’ yearning for another retro AJ II release or because of the quality of the picture. Regardless, there has now surfaced a clearer and FULL preview of the Air Jordan 2010 expected to release next year- as its name suggests. Any new thoughts on these?

The Air Jordan team most certainly has a big holiday season coming up- highlighted by the Space Jams, three pairs of XII’s, and even quite a few I’s coming out. But there is perhaps no other sneaker brand that can hook its fans more effectively than team Jordan can- and here’s more proof. The Air Jordan VI pictured here in a predominantly black colorway with contrast stitching and icy soles is slated to release some time in the summer of 2010. How do you guys feel about this pair of the iconic Air Jordan VI? Is it something to save up for or pass up?

If you’re anywhere near as big a sneaker and sports fan as I am, then there’s no need to describe how exciting the following scenario feels. You’re in the middle of watching a heated NBA game between Eastern Conference/intrastate rivals Orlando Magic and Miami Heat. Harold Miner makes a strong move to the basket and challenges both Horace Grant and Shaquille O’Neal under the basket but you seem to have lost sight of the ball. In fact, you’ve lost sight of the ball, the rim, the net- everything except for one, maybe two, things: Horace Grant’s bright blue knee pad and the Steel Grey Air Jordan X’s on Harold Miner’s feet.

A lot of us did or had friends who did collect cards when we were in our adolescent years. Some habits, however, die hard. Now people like us here at SneakerFiles have the brain behind the KicksOnCards blog to thank for once again giving us a taste of that childhood love for trading cards- as a result of its combination with our present day love for sneakers. Check out KicksOnCards for timepieces that happen to not only highlight some NBA moments passed, but also highlight some basketball sneakers many of us still love and even covet- including my favorite Air Jordan of all time: the Air Jordan Laney V.
