In June of this year we brought you a look at the Air Jordan I Retro Mid Ruff N Tuff – Quai 54, which only released abroad. Despite no stateside release, many sneakerheads showed the AJ I a lot of love because of things such as the laser print on the inner lining. Well, there is now a preview shot of another Air Jordan I retro that dons laser print and is reportedly dropping in 2010. Seen here, the Air Jordan I comes in a white upper/midsole with a laser pattern on the mid panel, black suede on the heel, red suede near the ankle lining, and red patent leather where the Air Jordan wings logo is located. On September 5, Jordan Brand will release a trio of sneakers each dedicated to celebrating MJ’s ascension into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame. “The Beginning” is venerated with the Air Jordan I (1), “The Championships” observed with the Air Jordan Six (6) Rings (this hybrid combines design elements from every shoe Michael won a championship in), and “The Future” commemorated by the AJ2009. The image of what is rumored to be called the Air Jordan Alpha 1 has surfaced. We were told that the Jordan Alpha 1 series will initially hit retailers in two colorways, beginning in Spring, 2010. The colorway of the Size 9 sample (pictured) is reminiscent of the Original Air Jordan I (1) White-Black-Red scheme, which is a grail Jordan to many collectors. To those who cannot afford to pay thousands for a vintage Air Jordan 1 from 1985 (or a 1994 retro model), this colorway of the Jordan Alpha 1 may possibly fill a void. Via Shoe York

Two new versions of the Air Jordan I (1) have surfaced at select Jordan Brand accounts several weeks earlier than expected. The purple/yellow I (incorrectly dubbed the “Lakers” I) is inspired by MJ’s fraternity, Omega Psi Psi. The other pair to hit prematurely is the versatile black/shadow grey version that features textured leather overlays. Both variations are draped in chenile or “varsity leather.” The Air Jordan I (1) in purple/yellow and black/shadow grey is available now at select Jumpman retailers.

Michael went for 61 against the Atlanta Hawks on April 16, 1987. This Air Jordan I (1) Phat Premier High in black/red is part of Jordan Brand’s 60+ Collection. The black/red scheme features a premium leather upper with yellow contrast stitching, a nod to Atlanta’s uniforms. The reissue’s Swoosh features fabric detailing. The Air Jordan I (1) Phat Premier High “Atlanta Hawks” will hit retail shelves this October.

Jordan Brand is ringing in 2010 by releasing the Air Jordan I (1) in this vibrant silver/metallic foil style. The original Air Jordan pairs a white midsole with a mute silver upper. A foil material covers the the shoe’s perforated toe box, midfoot Swoosh, and ankle collar. Does the lucidity fit your style or are the foil accents simply too suspect for your tastes?
