When we brought you word of Jordan Brand’s plans to release a 16.5, we also informed you of an anticipated release month of somewhere close to November, 2009. For all of you who enthusiastically await one of the cleanest “.5″ Jordan designs ever, the first colorway of the 16.5 is now available for purchase in mid-October for a retail price of $124.99. Borrorwing cues from the AJ XVI such as its sole and patent leather toe box, the 16.5 also subtly borrows things from the AJ XVII such as the laces area and “peel off” sticker that comes on the heel of the shoe. Who says the numbered Jordans are dead? Obviously they aren’t, especially with Jordan Brand’s latest release: the Air Jordan XVI.5 (16.5) in a clean white/black-blue colorway. These 16.5’s use a white leather upper with black mesh, black patent leather on the toe, and a black midsole to go along with the translucent outsole. Blue is placed in the sole and accented on the Jordan symbol at the back and 16.5 logo at the front. The black patent leather tongue adds a nice touch to this basketball shoe, making it perfect on or off the court. This shoe should be out this month.

Of the assortment of  Jordan Brand hybrids we’ve seen this year, the Air Jordan 16.5 has earned a name as one of the more favorable releases. Synthesizing the best of the AJXVI and AJXVII in its original Black/Red colorway, the model is now seeing a release in the classic Chicago Bulls home color scheme of White/Black/Red. Jordan Brand’s latest installment to their vaunted “.5″ series, the Jordan 16.5 (XV1.5), pits design element from the Air Jordan XVI (16) and Air Jordan XVII (17) to create something completely new! The shoe features a black leather upper with patent hits around the rear and at the toe. A translucent outsole provides tip-top traction (if you’re not hoopin’ in the XV1.5, at least you’ll look good). A hint ‘o red on the midsole in brought on by the XVI, while the upper shape, eyelets, and “Peel Off” sticker borrow from the slept-on XVII.
