adidas is celebrating their 60th Anniversary with a flury of “60 Years of Soles and Stripes” releases that celebrate the brand’s storied history and penchant for luxurious quality. (Last week, we previewed the adidas Pro Model 80’s, a cornerstone of 60 years of S&S.) The shelltoed adidas Superstar, arguably the company’s most prevalent model, will be available in black/purple and white/gold. adidas recently previewed new 2009 styles from their Originals line-up. The highlight was this adidas Micropacer inspired version of the Gazelle 2, which features a lucid silver upper, sky blue stripes, and a red outsole. (The Micropacer was a technically advanced runner to hit in the mid-’80s that was defined by a computer-like contraption affixed near the laces that tracked your workout statistically.)
