Previewed a few weeks ago, we now have some more detailed images of the botanically inspired adidas Originals ‘Five-Two 3 Plant Pack’. Featuring colorways of the Samba, Stan Smith, Superstar, Nizza High, and Forum Mid, the pack is tied together by premium leather uppers, subtle plant shape embossing, and soil-tone s. Perhaps the coolest feature of the pack, the Adidas trefoil has been redesigned to look like a plant, featured on the tongues and heel panels of the five models. The NBA World Champion Los Angeles Lakers kick off their 2009/2010 season tonight, hanging their 15th NBA Champion banner in The Staples Center. In honor of the impressive accomplishment, adidas Originals has created a special Lakers themed colorway of their Superstar model. Featuring a predominantly metallic gold upper, the low-top is accented with hits of purple and yellow on its suede Stripes, as well as Lakers insignia on its tongue tag and insole. The tribute model is set to reach select adidas Originals retailers on November 1st.

The popular Adidas Centennial Mid has been fitted with a special Boston Celtics colorway as part of Adidas’ ‘Mid Eastern Conference Pack‘, releasing just in time for the start of the 2009-2010 NBA Season. For those who can recall, the SneakerFiles crew brought you a preview of five all-white upper sneaker silhouettes that are each a part of the Five-Two 3 plant collection. Now, the team is at it again with this sleek pair of Samba Madsaki’s in a predominantly black upper with white accents- particularly around the shoe’s sole and outer lace gator, which also possesses hints of grey. The adidas Originals line, as do mostly all other brands, draw inspiration from varied sources. The recently reported on “Never Ending Path” collaboration is a perfect example of this. Now, the brand has attempted to infuse five of its silhouettes with detailing inspired by an actual plant. The collection is made up of the adidas Samba, Stan Smith, Superstar, Nizza High, and Forum Mid (pictured in that order from left to right, top to bottom). The soles have brown detailing, most likely representing soil. The upper consists of premium leathers in predominantly white colorways, with a reworked adidas logo made to look like a plant. Just recently we got a look at some of what the adidas Skateboarding line will be launching in the fall and winter of 2009. Now we have a look at one thing the adidas Originals line is preparing to drop on us this winter- the Forum Low RS. The upper comes in black suede with brown stitching, and the shoe is finished off with a complementary bubble gum sole. The only seeming color deviation comes in the form of an orange adidas logo on the tongue. Brown and black seems to call people’s attention come winter- what do you think?
