In the early September days we brought you a look at an adidas Originals Tokyo low in an eye-catching blue colorway. Two months later, we now have a look at the same silhouette in a more famous color and in a high-top design. The adidas Originals Tokyo high pictured here sports a predominantly black base with red and white accents. But perhaps what is more noticeable is the high-top execution we don’t see often. Moreover, this shoe also includes Gore-Tex protection against water and for heightened durability. It seems as though because of the high-top modeling and low stateside availability, these will be more easily attainable overseas and will run you more money than your usual adidas Originals release.

Previewed a few weeks ago, we now have some more detailed images of the botanically inspired adidas Originals ‘Five-Two 3 Plant Pack’. Featuring colorways of the Samba, Stan Smith, Superstar, Nizza High, and Forum Mid, the pack is tied together by premium leather uppers, subtle plant shape embossing, and soil-tone s. Perhaps the coolest feature of the pack, the Adidas trefoil has been redesigned to look like a plant, featured on the tongues and heel panels of the five models. The NBA World Champion Los Angeles Lakers kick off their 2009/2010 season tonight, hanging their 15th NBA Champion banner in The Staples Center. In honor of the impressive accomplishment, adidas Originals has created a special Lakers themed colorway of their Superstar model. Featuring a predominantly metallic gold upper, the low-top is accented with hits of purple and yellow on its suede Stripes, as well as Lakers insignia on its tongue tag and insole. The tribute model is set to reach select adidas Originals retailers on November 1st.

The adidas Originals line, as do mostly all other brands, draw inspiration from varied sources. The recently reported on “Never Ending Path” collaboration is a perfect example of this. Now, the brand has attempted to infuse five of its silhouettes with detailing inspired by an actual plant. The collection is made up of the adidas Samba, Stan Smith, Superstar, Nizza High, and Forum Mid (pictured in that order from left to right, top to bottom). The soles have brown detailing, most likely representing soil. The upper consists of premium leathers in predominantly white colorways, with a reworked adidas logo made to look like a plant.
