Last year, the adidas Centennial mid was used as a silhouette through which certain NBA Eastern Conference basketball teams such as the Orlando Magic and Cleveland Cavaliers could be celebrated. This time around, the brand has solicited the help of artist Eric Bailey, who is known for having collaborated with other sneaker brands in the past as well. The result of this teaming is pictured here in this Eric Bailey x adidas “Wood Rich” Centennial mid, which sports Bailey’s artwork throughout the entire tonal grey upper of the shoe. The popular Adidas Centennial Mid has been fitted with a special Boston Celtics colorway as part of Adidas’ ‘Mid Eastern Conference Pack‘, releasing just in time for the start of the 2009-2010 NBA Season. Featuring the iconic Celtics logo on the tongue, the model uses green suede/leather and black stripes and collar pipping to create a dream sneaker for any die-hard Boston fan. Retailing for $80, you still have time to grab a pair from adidas Originals accounts before next Tuesday’s Celtics/Cavs season opener.

Adidas is by no means a stranger to drawing inspiration from team logos and applying them on a sneaker model. This time around, the Adidas Centennial is the canvas and the inspiration for this pack comes from a group of five Eastern Conference NBA teams. Although we got a sneak peek of this pack earlier on in the year, we now have a good look at five sneakers that draw inspiration from the Orlando Magic, Cleveland Cavaliers, Boston Celtics, Miami Heat, and New York Knicks, respectively. Be on the lookout, as these basketball sneakers are set to hit Adidas retailers soon.

Thanks to their official licensing deal with the NBA, adidas will be back with their “NBA Series” this Fall. The ’85-’86 adidas Centennial hightop is the subject of the line. The New York Knicks version features the Knickerbockers logo on the tongue and an orange suede upper with varsity blue accents. The adidas Centennial NBA Series will be available at select Three Stripes accounts this Fall.
