Over a month we ago we wrote about the Ballistic pack of two colorways of the adidas Originals Campus 80s. The adidas Originals team is back at it with this very silhouette, but in a nubuck edition. The upper comes in simple and smooth light brown nubuck color with patented adidas three-stripes logo in white, as is the sole. A tentative release time is set for next month from participating adidas Originals stockists and will also include a Superstar Vintage in the same colorway.

While the adidas basketball line continues strong with such innovative silhouettes as the adiPure. But it’s also important to know and remember where things have evolved from. Pictured here is the iconic adidas Campus 80s with a grey upper and white accents throughout. Moreover, this particular pair comes with rubberized material across the upper that helps make it waterproof but does not detract from the overall look or feel of the classic silhouette. These are scheduled to release as part of the brand’s Spring 2011 lineup.

It seems as though the adidas brand has recently been involved in even more basketball sneaker releases than usual- in part because of the added sneaker competition from brands like Li-Ning. However, the brand has chosen to also revert some attention back to the adidas Campus 80s now. The pair pictured here comes in a predominantly white leather upper with a tan/brown snakeskin print along the three stripes and heel tab. This adidas Campus 80s has already released from select overseas adidas retailers and can be purchased today.

Originally released in 1981, the adidas Campus became a hip-hop fashion staple as it was frequently sported by Run DMC and the Beastie Boys during the era.  The Three Stripes recently united with independent boutiques Mita and XLarge to reintroduce the suede lowtop in a materials-similar format.  More specifically, the shoes will be released in a green/white colorway and ink blue color scheme and will only be available at XLarge and Mita.
