New Balance Spring 2009 996 Candy Pack

Sneakerheads around the world are already familiar with the byword: Spring showers bring New Balance flavors. Strictly used by hardcore joggers and marathoners, the 996 was appreciated for its thoughtful design and technical comfort when it hit the market back int the mid-’90s. Recently however, the sleek runner has seen a resurgence in the casual/lifestyle market. In 2009, NB will take the model down two different paths, offering it up in a “Candy” pack and “Pantone” collection. The former (the top row of kicks in the image) is inspired by M&M’s and the silver wrapping covering your favorite cocoa delectables. The latter is energized by obscure, vintage-inspired color combinations. Images provided via Ransom Ramblings.
