The newest sneaker set to drop from the Air Jordan Six Rings series is the Portland Trailblazers inspired pair seen above. Featuring a predominately white upper with black and red lasering, this pair obviously takes inspiration from the jerseys of the Trailblazers. Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls defeated the Blazers en route to their 1992 NBA Championship and Jordan Brand is honoring the victory by releasing this colorway of the Six Rings. Chris Paul is definitely emerging into one of the best point guards to currently play in the NBA. Going along with his success on the courts, he has experienced much success in the footwear department as well. Jordan Brand has been hooking up their athlete with some real heat as of late and this On Court article yields no exception. On January 26, 2009, the Hornets took on the Philadelphia 76ers when CP3 rocked a player exclusive colorway of the Air Jordan Six Rings. Two games later, Chris Paul stepped onto the courts and surprised fans by actually rocking his own sneaker, the Air Jordan CP3 II. Paul has been known to wear the newest AJ models, but as the release date of his own signature sneaker nears, expect to see Paul rocking the CP3 II more often. Jordan Brand is celebrating the Los Angeles Lakers and Portland Trail Blazers with unique sets of footwear dedicated to each organization’s history and color scheme. The Lakers pack features a white/purple/yellow iteration of the heterogeneous Air Jordan Six Rings and black/white/purple/yellow variatons of the skate-friendly Air Jordan I (1) Phat. The LA triumvirate will hit stores on January 31, 2009. The Blazers pack also offers a pair of the Six Rings and two pairs of the Phat, but in white/black/red hues to match-up with the Blazers’ uniforms. The Trailblazers pairs will hit on February 14, 2009. The Lakers and Blazers Air Jordan Six Rings will be priced at an exorbiant $160, while all four pairs of the AJ1 Phat can be had for $95. The Six Rings has yet to experience the hype of the more classic styles, but this contemporary style needs to a lot more to catch the eyes of traditional Air Jordan followers.
