Air Jordan V (5) Retro - Mike Phillips Player Exclusive (PE)

Most Air Jordan Player Exclusives are made for professional sports athletes, but this Air Jordan V (5) Retro PE is made for a different type of player. Mike Phillips, an extraordinary saxophonist, is the only non athlete in Team Jordan and this pair was made exclusively for him. Being a part of Team Jordan definitely has its perks and having a player exclusive made for you is one of them. This PE is very similar to the Air Jordan 5 (V) Retro Black/Metallic Silver-Red which released in 2007 and the only notable difference between the two pairs is the lack of the number 23 on the player exclusive. Replacing the “23″ on the rear of the sneaker is a red saxophone with the letters M and P around it. As it is with most player exclusives, the closest you will get is probably checking out the pictures after the ‘jump.’ Via Kenlu.

Air Jordan Fusion 5 (V) - Black / Red Sample

The Air Jordan Fusion V (5) series was released in early 2008, but we are now getting a first look at a sample pair that never made it to store shelves. Featuring a black base with red stitching and accents, most sneakerheads deem it a godsend that this pair was never released. It appears as though the upper was composed of both leather and suede and even included red paint behind the black mesh net on the side. Contrasting with the black Air Force 1 midsole, this pair also yields a white “sunburst” design from the Air Jordan V (5). As previously mentioned, this pair is an unreleased sample and will not be released in the future. Via Kenlu.

Air Jordan 60+

Combine multiple sneakers to form one new sneaker. Sounds pretty simple, right? Well, we are now seeing evidence that Jordan Brand not only finds it simple, but effective as well. The concept of merging sneakers will continue throughout 2009 and we now have pictures of the newest hybrid. This pair merges together all of the sneakers that Michael Jordan wore on the five occasions that he scored 60 or more points. The Air Jordan 2 (II) and the Air Jordan 5 (V) play key parts in the Air Jordan 60+ and their influence on this pair is quite obvious. The most prevalent characteristic on this pair that we have seen before is the midsole which comes straight from the AJ5. Other key components include a mesh net on the side and a heel tab reminescent of the AJ2. Though it is not confirmed, the Air Jordan 60+ is set to begin releasing in August of 2009. Via NT.
