Tomorrow, February 14, 2009, will mark the beginning of one of the biggest sneaker release weekends of 2009. With the Air Jordan 2009 (2K9) making its first nationwide debut along with two pairs of the Air Jordan I (1) Retro High releasing, your pockets might feel a little lighter after this weekend. Though the AJ 2009 was initially hated on by the majority of sneakerheads, many have changed their opinions on it after understanding the technology and inspiration behind the pair. The two Air Jordan 1 Retro Highs that are set to release are the Max Orange colorway and the Pewter colorway. The Pewter AJ1 has been slept on by most and online pictures truly do not do this pair justice. The Max Orange colorway was initially referred to as the infrared AJ1, but after new information was revealed, it was quite obvious that infrared is not included on this pair. Pictures via RPS.

Aside from the aforementioned three main sneakers releasing tomorrow, Jordan Brand will also drop the White/Infrared Air Jordan Fusion VI (6), the “Trailblazers” Air Jordan Six Rings, and the two “Trailblazers” colorways of the Air Jordan I (1) Retro Low Phat. Jordan Brand has made an Air Jordan 2009 Player Exclusive for each of their athletes participating in the 2009 NBA All Star Game. We have shown you the pairs Ray Allen and Joe Johnson will rock in the ’09 ASG and it is now time to take a first look at Chris Paul’s AJ 2009 PE. CP3′s pair is very similar to Johnson’s PE and features a white leather upper with white satin panels, a light red midsole and ankle, a deep red blown-glass midsole, and gold accents. Chris Paul has had numerous Air Jordan player exclusives in the past and the newest one to add to his arsenal is this pair which CP3 will be rocking during All Star Weekend beginning February 13, 2009.

Earlier today, we showcased the Air Jordan 2009 (2K9) – All Star Game – Ray Allen Player Exclusive (PE) and now we are getting a first look at an Air Jordan 2009 PE made for Joe Johnson. As most of us know by now, Johnson will be representing the Atlanta Hawks and Team Jordan in the NBA 2009 All Star Game and Jordan Brand has made this PE in recognition of JJ’s accomplishment. This pair features a relatively simple upper composed of white leather, white satin, a navy blue midsole, and university blue accents. This Joe Johnson Air Jordan 2009 Player Exclusive is not yet scheduled for release, but don’t be surprised if it drops in limited numbers in the upcoming weeks. With the Air Jordan 2009 S23 releasing a little while ago, we are now getting a first look at an Air Jordan 2009 made exclusively for Ray Allen to rock while he participates in the NBA 2009 All-Star Game. This is the first AJ 2K9 to feature an upper composed of more than two colors and it looks quite promising that future colorways will definitely make some sneakerheads change their opinions of this model. Yielding a predominately white leather upper with navy blue satin and a university blue trim, this pair nicely matches with the jerseys of the Eastern Conference NBA All-Stars. As it is with all current colorways of the Air Jordan 2009, this pair comes with a blown-glass midsole which gives the sneaker a very clean and unique look. There is currently no information indicating that this pair will be made available to the public, but stay tuned for updates.

There were two extremely limited releases of the Air Jordan XX3 (23) last year and both sneakers came with wooden shoe trees. Could including a wooden shoe tree be Jordan Brand’s way of informing their fans of an upcoming limited release? If so, expect this Air Jordan 2009 to be sold out within minutes. Featuring patent and high-quality performance leathers, this pair yields a fairly simple black on black color scheme. Also including Articulated Propulsion Technology and an ecologically-friendly “Considered” design approach, this sneaker combines style with effectiveness. The Air Jordan 2009 has been making huge sneaker news since rumors of its conception dropped early last year. The time has almost come for the AJ 2009 to released and it has now started popping up at online retailers. There is an exclusive limited release of the Air Jordan 2009 scheduled for January 31, 2009 with a suggested retail price of $230 and a nationwide release on February 14, 2009 with a suggested retail price of $190. The latter of those two releases has appeared on an online retailer for $15 less than retail price. It is not looking too good for Jordan Brand with this release considering that a full-size run is still available in the sneaker even after it is being sold for under the suggested retail price. From releases like the Air Jordan 23 (XX3) all the way to the highly anticipated Air Jordan 11/12 Countdown Pack, 2008 has proven to be an epic year for Air Jordan fans. Now that 2008 is coming to a close and the new year is rolling in, all eyes are focused on Jordan Brand to see what they have in store for us in the upcoming year. Jordan Brand’s newest signature sneaker has yet to be given an official name and is still being referred to by many different titles including the Air Jordan 2K9, the Air Jordan 2009, and the Air Jordan 24 (XXIV). Whatever the case may be, we are now seeing pictures of a possible box that the new sneaker will be sold in.

Though it is not certain that this will actually be the Air Jordan 2009′s box, it is possible. As most of us know by know, the Air Jordan 23 (XX3) was sold in a high quality box and came with a complimentary CD from Jordan Brand. Only time will tell what complimetary objects the Air Jordan 2009 will come with, and if this really is the housing of Jordan Brand’s anticipated newest sneaker.
