The Air Jordan 1 has been released multiple times throughout the last couple years and we are now seeing evidence that 2009 will also be filled with releases of the first numbered sneaker in the Air Jordan line. In 2009, Jordan Brand will be releasing colorways that take inspiration from original (OG) colorways of the AJ1 High including the White / Metallic Dark Red colorway and the White / Metallic Green colorway. In the past years, most retros have been released in a mid-top cut, but 2009 will bring back the high-top cut that we all love and want. Other key Air Jordan 1 releases include the continuation of the Air Jordan 1 High Strap series and the Air Jordan Retro 1 Low series. Supra’s Skytop has caught the eyes of several different personalities including celebrities, Levi’s and now Jordan Brand. The unnamed sneaker is Jordan Brand’s answer to the Skytop, but JB incorporates a velcro design as seen on some Supra styles. Furthermore, an Air Jordan icon is made visible with perforations at the side of the sneakers. Other than that, the high-tops are rather simple and feature a very clean black and white colorway. The Nike Hypermax was seen in a couple of Nike Basketball catalogs a while back and we now have a detailed look at what the newest basketball sneaker from Nike will have to offer. Featuring flywire technology most famous for its appearance on the Nike Hyperdunk, this pair will definitely prove to be a stylish, yet comfortable sneaker. The Nike Hypermax has a high-top cut and includes a full length Nike Air bubble in the sole for added comfort. A key characteristic of this model that we haven’t seen much of from Nike is the use of a futuristic design that functions well on the courts as well. The colorway shown above is only a sample colorway and will most likely be altered before releasing later this year. The Nike Hypermax is set to release in Summer of 2009.

Now that 2008 is coming to a close and the new year is rolling in, all eyes are focused on Jordan Brand to see what they have in store for us in the upcoming year. Jordan Brand’s newest signature sneaker has yet to be given an official name and is still being referred to by many different titles including the Air Jordan 2K9, the Air Jordan 2009, and the Air Jordan 24 (XXIV). Putting a tweed pattern on a pair of sneakers always yields an interesting product. This scan of Nike’s Spring 2009 catalog proves what that Nike will be stepping their game up on all types of sneakers ranging from running to basketball and even to gradeschool sized sneakers. Above, you can see that a new Nike basketball sneaker, the Nike Game Five, will begin to release in January and will have another colorway release in March. Two of the more popular Nike sneakers, the Nike Air Foamposite One and the Nike Air Penny III, will release in February and March, respectively.
