Last month, we saw Blends join the 1HUND(RED) campaign for Aids relief in Africa with a pair of the Converse One Star. Now, United Bamboo lends its creative juices and applies them to the Chuck Taylor All Star pictured here in a different look than we’re used to. The shoe comes with an embroidered pattern throughout the entire upper, a suede toe cap, and red stripe near the ankle that bares the United Bamboo brand name. These will drop via honeyee TOMORROW, Friday the 13th.

Some of the top lifestyle brands have worked for Converse’s 1HUND(RED) collection to not only give the consumers some stylin’ shoes, but to inflict some knowledge about charity on them as well. This time, SoCal brand Blends has collaborated with Converse to make the Blends x Converse 1HUND(RED) One Star. The One Star uses a premium black leather upper and a classic white striped midsole. Red lace eyelets are accentuated towards the ankle to promote the (RED) charity. The back heel tag definitely makes this a classic shoe, taking influence from the vintage feel of Converse. These will retail for $120 and will release at Blends’ stores in San Diego, Costa Mesa, and Los Angeles in three consecutive nights (7-10pm) starting October 22nd.

It’s great to see that a campaign as worthwhile as the 1HUND(RED) struggle against AIDS in Africa is garnering the backing it deserves. Most recently, the HUF team joined the effort with a pair of “Skidgrip’s.” Now, we see that Staple Design has joined the effort and played its role in the production of the black/red/white pair of Sea Star’s pictured here. The upper comes in black suede with red accents in places like the inner lining and a predominantly white sole. Yet another great way to get involved in the fight to save lives in Africa, this pair of Sea Star’s will go on sale starting Thursday October 8, 2009, exclusively from Reed Space in New York City.

The Converse 1HUND(RED) artists campaign is definitely worthwhile. With shoe launches like Ian Ginoza’s Jack Purcell V3’s, the very nice silhouettes are overshadowed only by the great cause these artists have championed. Now, we have a look at HUF’s contribution- the “Skidgrip.” On a completely white sole is a black canvas upper covered in “H’s” and slight red accenting on the top eyelet. These shoes officially drop this coming Saturday, October 3, 2009 at HUF LA, HUF SF, and other select Converse retailers at a retail price of $75. What better way to make sure you look good and help such a good cause as the fight against AIDS in Africa?

The Converse 1(Hundred) Artist Collection is a year-long collaboration between the Massachusetts brand and independent artists to further the efforts of Converse with Product (Red). Edge of U2 freaked the Chuck Taylor All Star in black/white/red, adding 100 edged shapes to the canvas upper. The pattern represents Converse 100th Anniversary, which was celebrated in 2008. The Edge x Converse 1(Hundred) Chuck Taylor All Star will be available at the Converse Store in London and online.

Last September, the Wood Wood x Converse 1HUND(RED) Chuck Taylor was previewed and is close to being released. Converse calls on Danish brand Wood Wood to design an All Star High for the 1HUND(RED) collection. Their version of the classic model is outfitted in a light grey suede and highlights of dark grey on the toe and on the midsole. Commemorating the campaign is a red eyelet near the tongue. Release is scheduled for this Friday at DQM.
