Ronnie Fieg x PUMA Disc Blaze OG ‘Cove’ - Officially Unveiled

Ronnie Fieg and Kith have officially unveiled the Ronnie Fieg x PUMA Disc Blaze OG “Cove” ahead of its highly anticipated Black Friday launch.

18 months ago I took a trip to Boston to meet with the very talented PUMA product team to start working on a project. When I was asked what my dream project would be, the obvious answer was the Disc. The PUMA Disc is one of my all time favorite sneaker silhouettes, when it dropped in 1992 it way ahead of it’s time, supplying the sneaker market with a new closure system. I was always a fan of the concept and my only beef with the OG model was the asymmetrical toe box. At first I was hesitant to ask if I could create my own upper but I realized throughout the meeting that the product team was extremely receptive to new ideas and in this industry I’ve learned how rare that could be. After an hour or so I asked about creating my own toe and within a few minutes we started working on sketches. Once we altered the moc shape and finalized the toe sketch we began working on other concepts which included the “mud guard”, a strip of leather added to the vamp and quarter panel which was applied to the final sample.

This project means so much to me, the spin on this release is a little different from the rest. I was able to tweak one of my all time favorite sneaker concepts into what I believed would look best in today’s market. The outcome? The Disc OG “Cove”, one of my favorite projects to date.

The Ronnie Fieg x Puma OG Disc “Cove” will be available online at KithNYC.com November 23rd, 2012 at 11am EST. in limited numbers for $140 USD. The sizes range from 4-12 US. Information for the in-store release coming soon.

  1. It almost looks like a shoe with a fan attached for cooling or something. Kind of odd but ahead of its time many years ago.
