Last night, Kevin Durant wore the Nike Zoom KD IV “Nerf” for the OKC All Star Classic charity game and once images of the shoe hit the web, the sneaker community welcomed it immediately and hoped it would release. Unfortunately, sneakerheads won’t have enough time to take in how unique and outrageous the Nike Zoom KD IV “Nerf” is because today we now have a first look into another creative KD IV colorway, dubbed the “Year of the Dragon”. We all know that Nike and Jordan Brand used the “Year of the Rabbit” theme to create classics of the Air Jordan Retro VII and the Nike Air Force 1.

With 2012 coming up, the Year of the Dragon rolls in. Although not mentioned enough, the Nike LeBron 9 “China” was inspired by a blue dragon and the Nike Zoom KD IV “Year of the Dragon” takes on similar cues. Along the midfoot strap and tongue, dragon scale-like detailing in Blue is present. The upper is Blue and the swooshes are Orange, making the colorway nearly identical to that of the Nike LeBron 9 “China”. What are your first thoughts on the Nike Zoom KD IV “Year of the Dragon”? Does it top the Nike Zoom KD IV “Nerf” that is on the left side of the image above?
