This is the year of the dragon according to the Chinese calendar. And with a number of different sneaker brands releasing commemorative sneakers, Li-Ning offers its own spin on the situation. Chinese tradition views the number 8 as a lucky number; so, Li-Ning created the 88 sneaker hoping it’d bring twice as much luck and released it to the Chinese market. However, it is now holding a giveaway for only eight pairs of the Li-Ning 88 to be distributed in the U.S.- one of which will actually be signed by Philadelphia 76er Evan Turner.
