Gary “The Glove” Payton couldn’t be more proud of his son Gary “The Mitten” Payton II as he’s just committed to play basketball for the Oregon State Beavers – a school where his father also attended before leaving to the NBA.
As the legacy continues, Gary Payton II prepares to help Oregon State reach the NCAA tournament for the first time in 45 years. Currently a sophomore at Salt Lake Community College, “The Mitten” is expected to improve on his game this season until the transfer occurs. At the moment, Payton II is “averaging 11 points, 7.4 rebounds and two assists for the Bruins this season.”
