Prior to tonight’s showdown with the Duke Blue Devils, the Maryland Terrapins are set to dedicate their court to their former coach, Gary Williams.

Upon retiring after the 2010-2011 season, Williams is the third winningest coach in ACC history and and won a National Championship in 2002. In addition to tonight’s commemoration of “Gary Williams Court” prior to the showdown, the College Park squad will also be wearing special edition kicks to mark the occasion.

The players will be lacing up special editions of the Micro G Juke and the Micro G Bloodline, while Williams himself was presented with a special version of the Micro G Funk, complete with custom casing. All three pairs feature Maryland detailing throughout with Williams’ signature adorning the heel.

A few days ago we caught a glimpse into what should be a very bright future for the Los Angeles Clippers when newly acquired Chris Paul and Chauncey Billups were seen doing their thing on the basketball court while Blake Griffin and Deandre Jordan flew all over the place throwing down monster jams. Well, now it is Deandre Jordan who is welcomed into a new family- the Under Armour one. While he’ll be balling with CP3 and Mr. Big Shot, his brand point guard buddy is now Brandon Jennings. We look forward to seeing both what Jordan does on the court and what Under Armour produces from him to do it in.

One of Under Armour’s new representatives, the #2 overall pick Derrick Williams, explains his journey. Unlike Brandon Jennings, DWill didn’t come from a bad community but was from an average normal setting. He quickly gained national exposure as the NCAA season progressed and his fame skyrocketed when he personally torched Duke in the tourney. We all know Under Armour has quickly taken over a considerable share of sneakerheads and basketball players recently with its impressive lineup of sneakers. Seen after playing at Fort McNair practice facility, President Obama carried his very own customized Under Armour sneakers with the USA Presidential Seal on the tongue. Brandon Jennings was pleased to show off the President’s sneaker of choice. Under Armour can check off “outfitting the President” on the checklist now.

The end of the lockout seems very near now with a tentative agreement on the table. The end of the lockout means rookies like Kemba Walker will finally complete their dreams of making it to the NBA.
