Brandon Jennings is a man of many firsts. The devilishly quick point guard bypassed a one-and-done college career in the Arizona desert for a more lucrative stint with Pallacanestro Virtus Roma in Italy. (A little Mediterranean sunshine never hurt anyone, did it?) Jennings also was the first hoops athlete to sign on with upstart Baltimore-based brand Under Armour who has made noise in the football and training worlds with functional, anti-aesthetic releases. The company is set to deliver hardwood kicks just in time for the 2010 season. (UA released cleats in ’07, trainers in ’08, runners in ’09 and so on…) In the meantime, you can preoccupy yourself with the latest images to surface from ‘cross the Atlantic, as BJ is tantalizing us with early weartest samples of Armour’s product. The first impressions are promising! And if you’re one of those restless cats, agog and hankering over every detail regarding Jennings and Under Armour developments, be sure to check out his interactive experience on the company’s website, “When In Rome”.

In 2009, Converse is celebrating its 101st birthday. In celebration of this momentous accomplishment, the Boston, Massachusetts brand is working their timeless Weapon Mid, a technical hoops model initially released in 1986. The Weapon Dual Strap combines the “Y-Bar” ankle supp0rt system, thick midsole, and reinforced toebox (Or elements of old) with a dual-strapped, Reebok Ex-O-Fit-inspired support system above the model’s ankle collar. Expect the high-rising shoe to release sometime in early ‘09 in a bevy of lifestyle color schemes. The Converse Blog.
We gave you a preview of Nike’s 2009 running collection including the Nike Twilight a while ago and we now have new information and detailed pictures of the pair. Referred to as the Nike Twilight, the pair shown above is a hybrid between three of Nike’s greatest running sneakers—the Nike Air Triax Structure, the Nike Air Max Stab, and the Nike Air Pegasus. That’s right, 2009 will bring further development of the “love it or hate it” concept of combining multiple sneakers into one and referring to the product as a hybrid. The Nike Twilight yields a mesh toebox, rubber outsole, and leather accents. You can expect for these to drop at your local Nike retailers in Spring 2009. Via BKRW.
Travel along with adidas and Dwight Howard as they film a spot at an NBA Testing Ground Center at a secret, undisclosed location for the new adidas TS BOUNCE Commander. The commercial calculates Dwight’s yearly jumping stats, converting his functional energy into various statistics–pretty cool, methinks. Bounce.
Nike’s Terminator has never been known to be an extravagant sneaker rather a model that traces back to college teamed colorways. However, Nike has changed the way the image of the Terminator over the past few years and has refined it with premium materials such as snakeskin found on this Terminator Low Lux. This scaly design makes up the front portion of the shoe which includes the toe, toebox and lacing area. But there is more to this Terminator than snakeskin, gold finishes, a white midsole and gum sole are added features that complete this premium model. The Terminator Low Lux is now available at Atmos Tokyo.
