This morning, Nike unveiled their newest and lightest basketball sneaker up to date, the Zoom Kobe IV. Weighing in at only 11.6 ounces, the Zoom Kobe 4 will be even lighter than the Nike Hyperdunk—a feat thought to be impossible when the Nike Hyperdunk was released months ago. Featuring a red base with white accents, this colorway of the Zoom Kobe 4 is meant to go along with the jerseys of the west coast NBA All-Stars playing in February of 2009. Small gold accents can also be seen on this sneaker in the form of Kobe’s signature on the heel and his patented logo on the tongue. Another key aspect of the Zoom Kobe 4 (IV) is the fact that it will come equipped with Nike’s flywire technology which gives players the support and flexibility needed to play at the best of their abilities. Every year brings new surprises to the sneaker game including new technology, colorways, and models. It seems as though in 2009, Nike will be highly concentrating their efforts toward reinventing the classic Nike Air Force 1 (One) model with new colorways and technology. We have seen numerous previews of colorways set to release in ‘09 and they have all seemed to be highly accepted by sneakerheads worldwide. This colorway of the Nike Air Force 1 set to release in 2009 yields a clean and simple colorway of black and gray. Though it may look like a simple leather AF1 at first look, this pair features an elephant print embossed gray toebox which is better noticed under fully-lighted conditions. Just a few days ago we previewed the Nike Air Force 1  Low – Navy / Orange, here is a look at a similar Air Force 1 Low Premium which also sports specific characteristics. Both models share a common feature in the embossed croc leather heel back and also use a similar color scheme, but his version is made up of ash and red. The primary color used is ash while red contrast the dark toned upper on the swoosh, laces, and sole. Release date is still unofficial and is expected to hit stores sometime around 2009. New Balance’s M850 was originally produced in 1991 and was one of the few NBX models to feature a variety of NB technologies in one shoe. The M850 is back and will be releasing in true-to-original colorways such as the white/teal/pink/black iteration seen above. The runner will also feature a leather upper, micromesh underlay and a 3M “N” logo. Both styles are available for pre-order now at Hanon and will ship out after January 1st.

Although Las Vegas may not be known for being a major sneaker city, it does include a few stores that are a must when in the city that never sleeps and Suite 160 is one of them. Located in the Mandalay Bay Shops, Suite 160 is a low key boutique that carries Nike, Nike SB, Air Jordan, Adidas, New Balance, Elwood, Rosasen, Emperial Nation, and have just recently added Travis Mathews. Suite 160 currently has a Quickstrike account with Nike SB and Air Jordan meaning that they get limited edition releases. In addition, they have a glass case that houses rare sneakers. Furthermore, Suite 160 has something for everyone with prices ranging from $40 to $1,000 depending on what is in the display case.
