With only one month remaining till the start of the new year, future releases are finding their way into the back room of stores and on the internet. Here’s a look at an upcoming Nike Dunk High composed of anthracite and mean green. Reported to be inspired by the Seattle Seahawks, this Dunk High may not directly resemble the colors of the team, but the use of mean green references to eye of the Seahawk. As for the rest of the shoe, anthracite makes up the upper while mean green stitching, laces and inner lining contrast the dark tone. Check with your local Nike retailer for availability.

For the third year in a row, Philly-based lifestyle clothing troupe UNDRCRWN linked up with adidas REMIX to creatively reinvigorate the Three Stripes most coveted high-performance hoop product. In past years, the collaboration has yielded a five-shoe African- inspired “It Takes 5ive” campaign and shamelessly bold, iridescent version (Appropriately titled the “Just Ice Lightswitch Low”–Thanks K!) of the TS Lightswitch Low. For 2008-09, the partnership is coupling ‘Crwn’s “Brand for Champions” motif with Adi’s Team Signature Create & Command Series to create three shoes befitting the winners of the world. Specifically, the companies reworked the TS Commander Mid, TS Creator Mid, and TS Creator Low. Going into the interview, I was interested in learning more about how each shoe was produced. With the atypical materials, concepts and marketing involved, I figured ongoing circumspection was necessary to properly execute such a unique project. Brian from the adidas Portland offices explains, “The original concepts for the shoes start 18 months out.” From there, changes in materials are meted out by the brand’s marketing department and Undrcrwn. UNDRCRWN founder and head designer Dustin Canalin explains, “It’s hard to market sometimes because the shoes are always being changed. But that’s the great thing about our projects with adidas—they keep us involved in every step of the process.”

With a skilled production squad backing the project, the brands centralized their efforts on developing product that was reflective of a “winning” attitude on and off the courts. UNDRCRWN Public Relations Manager Tracy Royal explains via stock e-mail, “UNDRCRWN is the Brand for Champions. When you win and nobody believes you could do it; that is what UNDRCRWN stands for.” Each shoe in the series employs a different approach in evoking a feeling of victory.

Nike’s Zoom Lebron VI (6) is already off to an amazing start with a promising future evident by future releases including this version.  Not scheduled to release till February 21st, 2009, this Zoom Lebron VI stands out amongst the rest of the collection. This is achieved by consisting of unique components including a blue mid-sole with a graffiti designs that includes words like Lebron, Akron, Witness, Ohio, Chosen One, Winning, Fearless, Gloria, Shine, Bryce, etc. The rest of the sneaker is kept conventional with a black upper with a blue stroke around the white swoosh. Nike opened their Sportswear doors in Sao Paulo, Brazil and sold this Dunk Low at the launch. This Brazil model features a combination of leather and buttery suede on top of its purple on purple color scheme. However, purple isn’t the only color found on this sneaker. Black lining and a white mid-sole tone down the amount of purple. Additional information has yet to be released, but this Dunk Low is now available at Nike Sportswear Sao Paulo. Via SC.

Tracing back to his first basketball team in 1992, Lebron James was a member of the Summit Lake Hornets.  The Nike Zoom Lebron James Ambassador pays homage to the Hornets and is modeled after James’ team colors of black, white, purple and aqua blue. The upper is designed with an embroidered pattern at the sides of the sneaker while black is placed on the swoosh, heel and laces. Other details include purple inner lining and aqua eyelets and sole. Lastly, the Summit Lake Hornets’ logo is seen at the back along with “King” and “James” written on the bottom of the heel.

The recent collaboration between HUF and Vans which yielded these four SK8-HIs are now available online at HUF’s online store. The pack consists of four models, red/gold, silver/red, blue/silver and black/gold. Each is made up of a satin upper with “huf” written on the tongue in their signature cursive logo. This collection of SK8-HIs is reminiscent of Nike’s Dunk High Vandal Pack which also has similarities in their colors and design. You can find all four here at HUF’s webstore for $100 each.

L.A Gear is relaunching their sneaker line using old styles with new looks. The men’s collection consists of Star Shooter High, KAJ, Star Player, Fire High and the Star Shooter Low. The aggressive styles of the L.A Gears are paired with bold color schemes and leather uppers. As for the women’s side, you can expect a combination of patent leather and bright colors used on the Flame High, Star Dust and Flame Low.
