New Balance kicks off 2009 with two lifestyle-directed versions of the CM996M, a technical running shoe that was highly sought after by joggers and marathoners in the ’90s. The audaciously bold purple/pink pair pictured above is highlighted by black accents, buttery smooth leather, and a luxurious suede toecap. The package is finished off by a lucid all-silver version that’s augmented by a mesh ankle collar and toebox. The CM996M package will be available sometime in January 2009. With only a few days away, we get a look in to the womens side of things from Nike. Composed of a neutral grey, citron and white colorway, the Dunk Low is kept simple overall with a liberal use of each color. However, a net material, graphic printed insole, and metallic heel panel keep things interesting. Expect other Dunk Lows to release in a similar design utilizing bright colors and metallic tones. Thirty years later and Puma still has a hit on their hands with the Clyde, originally designed for Walt “Clyde” Fraizer. The ongoing collection of the Puma Clyde continues to expand with a collaboration involving mita sneakers. The Puma Clyde is given the “rising sun” design as implemented by Vans with their Hosoi models. However, instead of using white, red and black, Puma decides to include black, white and blue.  The sneakers consist of a black suede toe with black sun rays and a white logo stripe. The mita sneakers x Puma Clyde will be available on January 2nd, 2009 at mita and limited to only 185 pairs. Retail is set for approximately $208 USD.

One of the main reasons the Nike SB line has been so successful since its beginning is because they are constantly coming out with new sneakers equipped with great colorways and even better designs. Though the Dunk SB is the most popular sneaker of the SB line, Nike continues to release models that give the classic sneaker a run for its money. The Nike SB Zoom Veloce is Nike’s newest addition to the SB line and two colorways of it will be released in the start of the new year. Earlier this month, we showcased the two men’s colorways of the Air Jordan Retro 1 (I) Mid – Hare and we now have pictures of a colorway of an Air Jordan 1 (I) made exclusively for the female sneaker aficionados. Featuring the popular hare colorway seen on the Air Jordan 7 (VII), this pair is most definitely one of the better women’s sneakers we have seen in a while.  Yielding a light brown tonal upper and a white midsole, this pair’s inspiration from the hare colorway is immediately apparent. The use of a pink swoosh and pink laces give this sneaker the feminine look desired by most women. Here’s a look at one more Nike Air Max 1 that will be released over the next few weeks. This Nike Air Max 1 Premium SP features a color palette of brown with purple. In addition, lime green stitching is wrapped around the sneakers as well as a variety of materials which includes suede, nubuck, and ballistic mesh.
