Self-Conscious in Chicago has received their new Adidas collaboration forum low that was set to release April 1st but was pushed and is available now @ Self-Conscious.

The concept of the shoe consists of the Chicago flag color way with each of the major expressways printed on the shoe. The airplane and tracks on the toe box and around the shoe signifies a plane flying from O’Hare over each expressway.

The shoe will run in Kids Sizes 3.5-7 and Mens 8-14

The Sneaker Files team recently paid a follow up visit to Shiekh Shoes in San Francisco, CA. We were greeted almost immediately upon entering by a very friendly and familiar face, Abdul Haleem, VP of Operations for Shiekh Shoes. He was proud to start off the tour by showing us the very flashy Nike section, which was unlike any other sneaker display that any of us had seen. The Nike section was full of new releases and classics alike, most notably the back wall full of Air Force 1’s, which included a great variety of color ways. There were posters up on the walls and mannequins modeling Nike clothing. It was really hard for us to leave this section, but Abdul had assured us that there was more to see.

Second, Abdul took us upstairs and showed us something that many of us had never seen or expected: an upstairs salon. The Shiekh salon is ran by Ellis Cummings Jr., who told us that he actually had the opportunity to cut Method Man’s hair when he was in the store shopping. Men and women alike have a place in Shiekh shoes, both on the sales floor and upstairs in the salon. The salon is beautifully designed and very aesthetic.

Abdul made it a point to tell us that his goal is to look at a customer leaving the store and know that he has taken care of that customer head to toe, which is the exact direction that Shiekh is headed in. Shiekh is aiming to be a one-stop fashion shop, not to mention the fact that they will soon be opening a night club in the very same store! Rest assured we will be back to cover the night club as well! All in all, we had a great time visiting Shiekh Shoes San Francisco, and if you’re in the area check them out!

Chicago, Don’t forget to keep up to date with Encores 2nd Saturday sale event every second Saturday of the month and every Friday on the first week of the month at Self- Conscious where customers are greeted with free food and drinks as well as a raffle every month.

Holding down the event was Cliff, Dee and Penny from Encore. The sale included many L’style and Quickstrike kicks and some were available only at Encore. The size selection on the shoes that were on sale for the event was pretty much diverse so if anyone wants to check out the future sale events at both stores You wont be disappointed. For those who aren’t aware of Encore, it is the brother store of Self-Conscious offering premier releases including Lifestyle and Quick strikes. So if you cannot make the trip to Self-Conscious, Encore is the store to go to if you are in the North side.

St!zo from A.Okay official and Gurelea arts crew, has created two more creations to his custom library customizing an Air Tech Challenge inspired from the Jugrnaut boutique in Chicago and another hello kitty inspired dunk. For those who haven’t heard of St!zo we posted his intro and work a couple months ago. St!zo customizes just about anything on any shoe so for those interested you can catch him at A.Okay Official in Chicago or hit him up on his Myspace.

Rumors of a Bape Store opening in Los Angeles have been up in the air for awhile and now the store has officially been announced to be opening soon. An exclusive commemorative t-shirt is expected to be sold with the opening of the store, like many of the past openings. The Bape Los Angeles store is set to be opening on April 25th on Melrose, home to some of the best stores LA has to offer.
