Earlier today we touched on the Holy Grail, a shoe store that was looted after the Los Angeles Lakers conquered the NBA Finals in Orlando. Richard Torres, owner of the Holy Grail, arrived on scene less than an hour after the game ended to find fewer than 20 pairs of shoes out of the 800 he had in stock. Neighbors told Torres and authorities that the celebrants broke down the door to the store yelling, “We want shoes, we want shoes.” Many of the vintage kicks are irreplaceable and the damage to the store’s innards is extensive; glass display cases are shattered, two computers, money, and accessories were looted. Torres estimated the damage at nearly $140,000 but expects to be covered by insurance. He hopes to reopen the Holy Grail by the end of the week. Via LA Times.

After the Los Angeles Lakers won the 2009 NBA Championship last night in Orlando, riots broke near Staples Center. A shoe store called The Holy Grail was looted (robbed) during these riots. The saddest part of this specific story is that the shoe store stocks sneakers though consignment; meaning the real victims of this crime will likely be the individual consignees who (depending on insurance policies) may be burned for a knot of cash. The stolen sneakers are surely among the least serious criminal acts triggered by the Lakers win last night. More info on the riots and looting can be found via the LA Times. There’s no denying the high level of rarity and exclusivity of the Nike Air Yeezy, and everyone will be reminded once again with the release of the Net colorway on June 6th. Very few stores actually receive the sneakers, but for those of you in Louisiana, Sneaker Politics is releasing the Yeezys. There’s a catch, though. Beau Monde in Gurnee, has collaborated with Heydey footwear on the first ever Beau Monde signature sneaker that is a concept much different from other signature footwear.  Limited to only 48 pairs with a size run from 8 – 13. The shoe comes in white full-grain leather with 3M straps and piping, gum bottoms and wax laces. Laser etched on the top 3M panels are the Beau Monde logos and “#1 With A Bullet” on the bottom panel. The phrase “#1 With A Bullet” doesn’t refer to anything violent, but it’s a reference to the Billboard charts. When a record hits number one on the charts, it gets a bullet by it because it made it to the top spot and it will continue to rise to an even higher level on the charts.  Though the pictures are just the sample, keep a look out for the final product soon this summer.

You’re looking at a small view of the new Canarinho Nike Sportswear Pop-Up Store in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The store is located within the Gallery of Rock, downtown Brazil’s mecca of alternative culture. This new store gets its name from the bird that the Brazilian soccer athletes were given during the World Cup. As with other pop-up stores, plenty of local artists have their art featured, along with plenty of exclusive items only found in that location. A few of those items would include Nike Sportswear tees, Blazers, Dunk Lows, and other sneakers. In the colorful country of Brazil, a store of this nature only seems proper.
