Puma teamed up with the sneaker store of Japan, Mita Sneakers, for this limited release on the Clyde. The design derives from our crazy money hungry society and the problems we face because of it. When Clyde was at the top of his game in the 1970’s he became a symbol of wealth to many, his wealth can be credited to his childhood dream of becoming a professional basketball player. Now we just all need to keep our dreams alive!

The man behind the Puma GV will finally have the shoe based on the Guillermo Vilas himself. This model is called the Hall of Fame Puma GV and throughout the sneaker you can see why. The tongue has Guillermo Vilas holding the French Open trophy, on the heel it has the year Vilas was inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame (1991) and I believe the Bull at the heel is after his nickname “Young Bull of Pampas”. The Hip Hop culture and sneakers pretty much go hand and hand, and companies are recognizing this. Puma will release a couple pairs of sneakers in collaboration with A Tribe Called Quest. The color ways of the Puma x A Tribe Called Quest is green, red, black which are on many of their albums. With pictures just showing up online today these Puma’s are already called Puma Tribe. No release date has been confirmed, but should release later this year, Via CT.

March 24, 2007 Puma will release the Clyde Made in Japan Metallic package which will include three color ways. All Puma Clyde’s in the Metallic package are a exclusive limited edition made in Japan.
